Here’s the deal: this is big mood cinema. Alan Rudolph took every nook & cranny of the very notion of longing & sculpted it all into this mouthwatering flow of sight & sound. This is a dim-lit late night sexy saxophone solo, all breathy & lingering, but a movie. This is a perplexing reimagining of all romance movies. It’s too clothed to be erotic & too psychotic to be a sweep-me-away & too loving to be a thriller & too funny for its own good & too focused…

True to form. Still the most sensibly ironic movies known to man. A perfect film to send Tony Todd off into the sunset with. When I walked out of the theater there was an old lady running down the up escalator. I thought, “uh oh…”

Glad I only have my ears pierced.
