"You're not brave... men are brave. You say that you want to help people, but you can't feel their pain... their mortality... It's time you learn what it means to be a man..."

We only watch the Ultimate Edition in this house, give me that 3hrs of pure goodness.

Good grief I really need to not wait this long again to rewatch this damn movie. The story building in this film is just top notch. I feel like this movie sets up everyone in the justice league perfectly. And let's not forget the way they introduce Batman but didn't give it loads of screen time, just cuts to the chase of him being older. Which in all honesty I love that they gave us an older Batman. Ben Afflecks Batman takes zero shit from anyone, even Superman. I being super skeptical about Ben playing Bruce Wayne but damn did the dude give the character justice.

The humanizing of Superman in this movie to me just shows that the character has heart and an actual soul. And they do this without making him into a total wimp. And then making Batman into obvious a smarter man since the he's quite a bit older. Knowing damn well he could never take on Superman himself so he builds a suit and use Kryptonite to unique ways to control the situation. Dudes they battle is just pure eye candy. I love that it leads to Doomsday and finally the entrance of Wonder Woman. Never fails to make me smile when they ask each other if she is with the other.

There is just so much about this movie that I could on and on about but I'll hold my tongue. But I will say the ONLY thing that holds this movie back was casting Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor what a swing and a miss. He was so miscast that it was almost making me cringe every time he came on screen. That is really my only gripe about this film outside of that I love every single moment of it.

I really could have used more Batman & Superman together, these two just have the bromance that we deserve damnit!

Also let's not forget to appreciate the amount of scenes that we got with Henry Cavill with his shirt off and Ben Affleck working out without his shirt on. Couldn't be happier with the viewing my eyes get to partake in with every watch haha.

"People are afraid of what they don't understand..."

Hands down the absolute best Superman movie there is. No one embodies Superman quite like Henry Cavill did and it's a true shame that they let him go like they did.

I still seeing this at a midnight showing in IMAX with a buddy that lived down in the city. As soon as I got off work I drove down to meet up with her and get some dinner before the movie. Man to be 24 and seeing this movie for the first time again, what a treat that would be. Anyway, I during the opening scene when Henry is walking around without his shirt and cut up pants my friend and I just giving that look of absolute approval to each other. Like yes sir, this man can be superman hahaha. Good times to say the least.

I couldn't ask for better casting in all honesty, everyone fits their roles so well its ridiculous. The amount of star power they managed to get for this is also incredible. Diane Lane was the perfect fit for Martha and truthfully so was Amy Adams for Lois Lane. I love the direction that Zack Snyder took with this as well. Of course giving you Superman's origin story again but with upgraded differences than the original 1978 version. But the fact that they didn't waste time in the Clark Kent realm. They actually gave you Superman. And mixing it up with no Lex Luther and giving us General Zod instead, so damn good. Also can't forget Michael Shannon that dude seriously crushes every role he gets.

One things I adore about this film is the relationship between Clark and Lois. They didn't make them play this back and forth shit like every other film has. And that scene at the end when he had to make the decision to kill someone and he just yells in pain. The way Lois came over to him to hold him and he just clung to her.... my dudes that is the Clark and Lois I want! I don't want the stupid games let them be in love damnit! And thankfully these did that justice.

I am probably biased because Zack Snyder directed this and Christopher Nolan wrote this that I knew back in 2013 it was going to be my cup of tea. I do wish that we got this Superman with Nolan's/Bale's Batman films. My god that would have been God Tier superhero filmmaking. Maybe these types of films are just a little long in the tooth for some but the amount of story being told in these films I feel it to be necessary.

All in all I still think it will be impossible to top this as the best Superman movie of all time to me. Btw, I have not once hated a single man that was cast as Superman. They have all done a killer job for the movies they were in. Henry will just always be my all time favorite.

"A good death is its own reward."

You will be different, sometimes you’ll feel like an outcast, but you’ll never be alone. You will make my strength your own...”

To this day this movie remains to have the absolute best poster out of all the Superman movies. Actually used to have the one sheet back in high school. In fact I still seeing this opening day back in 2006. My friend who worked at the movie theater hooked me up with that one sheet and a free ticket. Her boyfriend decided to us as well and he fell asleep during this movie, honestly found that to be hilarious.

Though I don’t think it’s anywhere near one of the best Superman films it certainly isn’t the worst. I actually really love the casting in this one. Kevin Spacey as Lex Luther was such a great choice in all honesty. It’s like he mastered this portrayal to create Frank Underwood. Brandon Routh has the look for both Clark and Superman, plus he isn’t the worst actor so who am I to complain about this. Plus I don’t mind the suit of Superman in this one at all. It does kind of bum me out with the overuse of the CGI but it’s to be expected from this era.

I will forever laugh at how clueless everyone in these films are that Clark Kent is Superman but truthfully most people in life are that clueless. One more comment on the movie I do love the score from John Ottman, it’s perfect — definitely brought it into a new era. I enjoyed this rewatch considering it’s been a good decade since I’ve watched this movie.

Before the new Superman film comes out I gotta complete a full watch through of all the movies.

My word why didn't anyone tell me how good this 4K looked? Easily one of the best looking 4K I've seen.

"They're Here..."

Dudes this movie is so good, let's not kid ourselves. It might be a little too polished for some or 'not scary' enough which I don't understand. I love that this movie wastes absolutely no time just getting into things. Movies that don't waste my time or the rest of the audience is always nice. I'm sorry but that damn clown will forever haunt my dreams.

The family dynamic feels so real in this movie so yet another positive. Look I don't have any kids but I have always had this natural thing to protect them, so this puts me on edge. Poor Carol Ann these assholes truly wouldn't leave her alone. I absolutely love the look of the Poltergeist, especially for this era in film looked incredible. I always forget how much I really do enjoy this film every time I to actually rewatch it.

One last thing: that pool scene with all the corpses and coffins popping up, soo good!! Damn I love this movie.

Granted this did come out when I was a teenager. Sorry I just needed to share that tidbit.

Good grief do I love this movie. Even down to the corny ass lines that basically everyone has in this movie. Freddy is just as big of a prick as ever and constantly calling women a Bitch. I mean what else could one ask for. And I have always loved the look of Jason in this movie as well. It’s just a load of fun and I’m sorry if you can’t see that. I mean how is anyone not sold on the opening scene of the Priest hanging himself and just swaying about. If that doesn't set up the intrigue to this film I guess nothing else will. Leading up to a scene of being buried alive, c'mon now. That shit is pure nightmare fuel.

The sheer amount of maggots used in this movie almost makes me want to vomit but damnit do I love it. The woman withe bleeding eyes and vomiting up her entire eternal organs is of course a standout in this film. Who doesn't like the look of bleeding eyes. Having the gore at this level in all of Fucli's films definitely makes for a better zombie movie. I don't know my dudes, this movie and its overall vibe is just my absolute jam.

"Men at sea often have hallucinations. They work hard, they have eyestrain, lack of sleep, exhaustion. Sometimes, they just plain stupid. Why, some say they're more afraid of water than little old ladies are of the dark..."

One of the very few zombie movies in my collection I had yet to partake in viewing. It was a must to check off my list. So with that said let me discuss my ridiculous thoughts on this.

First things first... I know that this company's do the absolute best they can do with restoring these films but my word were some of these scenes rough to look at it. Not only. with all the noise on screen but this being the cameramans fault, there was so much out of focus shots in this I found myself laughing at my eyes wanted to focus but couldn't. That aside I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit. Is it a top tier zombie movie? Not in the slightest. But it did it's job which was to entertain me.

My main question about this entire film was how the hell did Peter Cushing's character survive for that many years after the war on that remote island? I mean where was this man getting his supplies for living? I am aware you must throw logic out the window with most movies but damnit dude could serve that long, props! I do dig the look of the water logged Nazi zombies. But I have to laugh that they didn't even have the budget to get their uniforms right. None of the acting was so god awful you couldn't enjoy yourself either so that was nice. Though the dude that played Norman needed a good throat punch. Anyway, If you want to just enjoy a summertime Nazi zombie movie then by all means check this one out...

This is one of the those movies that I find sort of difficult to put into words just how much I love it. Let me just clearly state that Charlie is one of the most precious characters to ever exist. Logan Lerman portrayed him perfectly. This movie will tear your heart apart then put it back together by the end.

The friendship shared between Charlie, Patrick, and Sam is one of my all time favorites in all of film. The first night Charlie decides to befriend Patrick hits me in the feelings because I had a similar situation of befriending my older high school friends then. Good ole high school football games. You can't forget Charlie's friendship with Mr. Anderson (Paul Rudd) is so wholesome and gives you a little hope that not all teachers are useless angry twats. Excuse me, I didn't have many good experiences with teachers as a whole. Anyway, the high school experience that is shown quite accurate to middle class families especially during this era.

Let me go back to their friendship for a moment, I love how the three of them endlessly show up for each other. Especially when Charlie has his mental breakdown. I just really felt like making myself cry tonight, I suppose because that tugs at my heart strings like nothing else. When movies just feel real and relatable its hard not to love the movie.

The portrayal of the parents being loving but giving that space is the best interpretation of boomers I've seen. Them thinking they know everything that is happening in their kids lives but not even in the slightest. You can tell they love them but just so distant... can you tell that I have boomer parents haha. One more thing before I wrap this up, the soundtrack is absolutely a banger in my book. Forever love this movie and definitely one of the best coming of age films.

Sidenote: Ponytail Derek would not be breathing if he laid his hands on me, good grief.

You know in The Wedding Singer when Steve Buscemi's character is drunk off his ass and says Ooh I like her... That sums up my feelings towards this movie.

In true David Lynch form you have so many scenes that are totally what the fuck is going on but damnit do I love watching it. My favorite moment in this entire movie was the entrance of Laura Dern's character Sandy. The way he has her centered in the shot walking into the frame from the shadows with that beautiful score playing. Lynch definitely loved his blonde leading ladies, and who can honestly fault the man for it. But my favorite character was Dennis Hopper's, Frank Booth. How many times can a man say Fuck in one movie. And my word was this man a pervert/the horniest man I've seen in a Lynch movie. "Let's fuck! I'll fuck anything that moves!" what a legend for delivering these lines effortlessly.

Though I am more into the weirder side of David Lynch I definitely can see where he polished his filmmaking for Mulholland Drive in this film. I can see why this is some peoples favorite Lynch movie as well, its pretty straight forward but does keep the weird elements there. And no offense to Isabella Rossellini but Laura Dern was always the better choice my dude. Jeffrey really needed to keep his damn nose out of other peoples business is all I'm saying. If you dig David Lynch it's a must watch for sure. Super happy I finally gave this a chance.

Truthfully I was expecting way more sex in this film as well. Don't get me wrong its there but just not in the abundance I was expecting.

“Some pizza and a bottle of wine with the right person — that can make the shittiest day better.”

Certainly different than any other film in this genre, I suppose. Lou Taylor Pucci and Nadia Hilker have some great chemistry. That scene on the beach where she takes his head into her lap and he tells her that he’s a grown ass man missing his parents, hit my feelings a little. But anyway, it’s a decent film. I couldn’t stand some of the over saturated day time scenes but that doesn’t take it away too much from the movie. It was an enjoyable watch but I don’t know if I’d ever watch it again.

“COWABUNGA, DUDES…!”

Pretty sure the last time I rewatched this movie was around 2011 when I had some kidney stones and I was high as balls on pain meds. Needless to say my friend recalls me laughing my ass off while I ate an entire thing of chips ahoy cookies. Much different experience than watching these movies endlessly as a child. Had to share that random memory of this.

Dudes how does one think this movie sucks? It is a such a damn blast. And holy hell do the turtle suits look incredible. But of course they are since one of the best practical effects studios made it, Jim Hensons Creature Shop. This movie is just so damn cool, you can’t convince me otherwise.

I have an older brother so I grew up with the cartoons and these movies because of him. My favorite was always Leonardo, still has my heart in all honesty. The acting is completely on par with what this movie is going for. Funny how kids movies from the 90s were more compelling than some films today. I love that they kept New York City grimy in this and doesn’t romanticize it at all for the sake of a kids movie. I simply enjoyed the hell out of myself watching this again.

"Two classes of people? What, the will be eaten and the won't be eaten...?"

Almost find it impossible not to do a double feature with these movies. They just go together so well. So nice when sequel is as good as the original. Truthfully they should have ended it right here. Maybe give a reboot nowadays not the dogshit they conjured for 3 or Reborn.

Definitely love that the stakes are much higher in this movie, with the entire football team on the bus. Also who doesn't love a smart villain taking out the three adults right off the bat. Plus who doesn't enjoy a little high school drama among the team to create some tension there. These movies are masters of their craft but they certainly do the damn thing they came to do... entertain and bring something new to the table. There is no denying that scene when the cheerleader stabs The Creeper through the head and his eyeball is at the end of it. Just for him to ultimately rip that side of his head off, i mean c'mon what more could you want from this? And that they fine tuned the look of the creeper in this movie was top tier. I just dig the hell out of his look in general.

One more thing, I love the isolation of this one a lot as well. Something about being that remote and really only having that bus for protection just makes it all the more creepier.

"You know the part in scary movies when somebody does something really stupid, and everybody hates them for it? This is it..."

Easily one of the best and original horror movies that came out of the 2000s. I genuinely can't imagine how one hates this movie. It's so damn good.

I love the overall gritty nature of this film. From the moment you meet the two leads they are sweating their asses off in that old car driving through the middle of nowhere USA. And the Jeepers Creepers truck always makes me want to get a tetanus shot. There truly is something about the early 00's that most do not appreciate it. The way all these movies came across as just grimy and dirty, you never feel clean watching them and I for one love that. Could be biased because I was a teenager during this era, so I grew up forming my taste around these films.

Dudes that scene in the police station when the creeper is just eating that guy to him grabbing Justin Long... then that whole scene of his face opening up. Scared the absolute shit of twelve year old me when I first watched this and now as an adult its so incredibly rad. It does help a film if you have characters you're rooting for to make it and this movie you are definitely hoping this brother/sister duo get the hell out of this. Though this movie is the definition of fuck around and find out... maybe don't go snooping around just a thought.

Anyway, the writer/director is the epitome of a piece of shit, I am glad everyone else that worked on this movie did such a stellar job so he doesn't stain the movie overall. This movie is just an absolute banger, that is all.

What fucking side quest on PCH did they travel up to get to the Mojave desert from LA? Holy shit I hate how these filmmakers make California out to be. You literally take the 215 to 395 to where they filmed this movie. Literally any road to the Mojave desert does not have mountains like that. I’m sorry this movie was filmed in the desert I grew up/lived in for 32yrs of my life and the journeys these people take annoy the shit out of me. Also there is nothing scary out in that damn desert outside of rattlesnakes and maybe a collapsing mine shaft here and there. Also Los Angeles does not get that many earthquakes, quit it. Anyway, I love this movie so let me just gush about it for a little bit. Michelle Pfeiffer will always be a selling point for me, I've always dug that lady's vibe. Plus her performance in this movie is top tier. Harrison Ford gives a great performance as well, something different from many of his other roles especially during this point in his career. I adore the setting as well. That house is incredible and wouldn't want to live right on the waterfront like that. This movie is without a doubt a slow burn but when it comes to ghost stories, what movie isn't exactly? The storytelling and how it plays out on screen to that ultimate reveal just so good my dudes.

One final thing: this 4k looks great, don't let anyone convince you otherwise and I'm super happy Scream Factory gave us a title like this.

“Those things are vampires! We need crucifixes, garlic, silver, holy water, and Christopher Lee… No you sloppy tart, those things are zombies!”

Bank robbers more like a band of idiots. Truly a crew full of dipshits with good hearts. What other kind of people do you want to survive the zombie apocalypse haha. Honestly though, I did enjoy this cast and of course the endless amounts of British humor this movie provides. Granddad was without a doubt my favorite, the amount of shit he talked, I would have a blast talking to that dude.

I love that the zombies are slow and kind of dumb in this. But I do appreciate the gore almost immediately in this movie. Maybe don’t open crypts that King Charles II sealed up. Dude would still have his jaw… I don’t know it isn’t a great zombie movie but damnit was it enjoyable.

"God didn't do this. We did..."

It's been a good decade since I rewatched this and still to this day I have felt that I am watching another movie then the rest. Because truthfully I love this movie. But there is one thing that could have made it one of the best survival movies. That would be recasting Will Smith with someone like Christian Bale, don't come at me you know damn well it would have been peak with him.

I find the premise to be just as captivating as the original film, The Omega Man (1971). I am an absolute sucker for apocalyptic/survival movies/books. The resilience that humans have to survive whatever is thrown at them will always provide hope. People truly do not understand the amount of will to live until something drastic happens. Though I do feel like Will Smith wasn't the right fit that doesn't mean he gives a bad performance. This would definitely be one of his better acting gigs, if you ask me. I love the concept that he is the. antidote/cure but my dude goes through the ringer trying to figure it out.

The other thing thing that I think holds this back is the CGI vampire-zombies. I really wish that would have stuck with actual people and just using the effects to show their speed. Still doesn't take away from the whole experience though.

Another thing I should have taken in for, was the dog dying in this rewatch. Having total memory of this before even starting it I just decided to torture myself with that one scene anyway. She was the best dog, literally till the end. Made me miss my little dude massively.

Still just as good as it was in theaters to be honest.

Unexpected to what I was initially thinking what this movie would be about. But that isn’t a bad thing. The whole voices in his head thing threw me off for a second but I dug it. Jack Quaid and Jeffrey Dean Morgan had great chemistry for this “buddy cop” (without either being actual cops) type of movie. Decent little thriller.

“Through dangers untold. And hardships unnumbered. I have fought my way here to the castle, beyond the goblin city, to take back the child you have stolen. My will is as strong as yours and your kingdom as great…”

Twist my arm why don’t you prime, I’ll enjoy another banger for the night.

I have only ever seen this once before, only ed a few parts. The dancing scene with Bowie, the goblins and the baby to Magic Dance always being the standout moment. I don’t Jennifer Connelly being such an asshole at the beginning but makes sense for the story. But this rewatch definitely made me fall in love with this movie.

Dudes… David Bowie was so damn good in this movie. Makes for such an enjoyable time watching him actually enjoying himself on set. Look at those damn costumes he was just embracing. The dude was so weird but I mean that as a compliment. And the look of the puppets used… Jim Henson was a damn genius with his craft. Of course all the puppeteers always do an incredible job.

The journey to Jareths Castle in the center of the Labyrinth was such a damn blast. How does anyone not like having a fever dream while watching fantasy? Always makes for a good time. Having to go through all those obstacles to make her finally appreciate what she has and her little brother for a change. We need more movies with this kind of messaging in todays world. Make it a fantasy trip like this so it entices people to watch them again.

One last thing, this songs in provided by the man himself, David Bowie, are just absolute bops. I wouldn’t expect anything less from the man.

“I STOLE THE BABY!!”

Browsing Prime only to see they had this gem streaming, so one must rewatch.

Honestly I don’t think I’ve rewatched this since around ten years old or so. Needless to say this rewatch made me love just as much as I did then. If you dig fantasy films and you haven’t watched this, you must.

Warwick Davis was such a solid choice as the lead here. Definitely brings the wholesome aspect but willing to go great lengths to save the baby. The dude is definitely super underrated especially with the amount of films he’s been in. When Willow finally meets up with Martigan, the banter immediately between Val Kilmer and Warwick was top tier. Val Kilmer is such a douche at first. Granted had he not been we wouldn’t have gotten that iconic line I stole the baby! 🤣 Seriously though, I love everyone in this movie.

Ron Howard also doesn’t get enough credit for making some really great movies. His clean style of directing makes it easy to immerse yourself in the story being told. Another thing, you mean to tell me that all of these little people just stopped acting between 1988 and now. They managed to get an entire village of them for this movie while Disney just CGI’s them in movies like the new Snow White.

Anyway, this was such a fun rewatch and now it has me in the mood to rewatch some other fantasy gems.

“When you fuck with death things get messy…”

A free ticket to my local theater and the entire theater to myself on a Friday afternoon, always a Yes!

I must it, I had a lot of fun with this movie. Though it is not my favorite, it is still a very worthy sequel. The whole premonition thing was awesome. I actually really liked how they tied this the others in the franchise a lot. I think that was my favorite thing about the movie.

The whole disaster that brought everybody together was just upscale to the biggest magnitude. If there’s one thing that has always been very consistent about this franchise is that it knows how to tie in movies perfectly without diminishing the others. It’s nothing new, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing when you going into a franchise that now has six films. Granted, the whole scale of everything is new, but in the best way.

I actually liked the cast in this movie quite a bit. Granted she’s not gonna be my favorite among the people to see the premonitions. But she still did a very good job. I will not discredit her for that. The kills in it especially one with a MRI machine made me cringe so badly and I felt the persons pain throughout the whole sequence.

I do have to throw this in before I finish this off the whole cabin in the woods thing that gave me the vibe from Ernest scared stupid. I mean cmon I can’t be the only one that got that vibe? Honestly though I had a lot of fun with this movie. Definitely check it out if you enjoy the rest of the franchise.

"It was never gonna balance. What did you say? The equation. Sometimes it's... just chaos. That's all there is."

Hands down one of the most underrated and overlooked Revenge movies out there. Truthfully as a James Wan movie in general, it's so good.

Always love the trope of suburban husband completely weak and useless, only to find out you push a man enough he will do anything. Kevin Bacon gives a killer performance and makes it totally believable as this mild-manner husband. Watching someone go through what he does, makes plausible sense for one to snap. I will never understand the whole trope of making these people out to be villains or somehow in the wrong. It is idiotic, eye for eye my dudes.

The detective played by Aisha Tyler absolutely drives me up the wall. Especially when she ask Mike if he started the "war" between him and the gang. Honey... they took out his son, that means they started it and they are getting everything they deserve. Regardless of that lame hollywood trope this movie absolutely slaps! When he starts to take his damn revenge, my word is it so sweet. Of course I always appreciate the amount of blood in films of this nature.

I appreciate when directors have their own style and you can see it every shot. The camera angles that James Wan so loving provides in all of his film, makes my heart happy. Pus his color grading almost being the same as Saw in this one is real nice as well.

Also I must it love seeing John Goodman in a role like this one. But my dude could have definitely used a shower this entire film haha.

Genuinely go back and forth with this or Maglinant being my favorite from James Wan. I'm sure that's a super hot take.

"You ARE Superman, aren't you...?"

There is so much to like about this one but at the same time it lack something the first had. I'll it I am a bit of a sucker for Superman & Lois Lane's relationship, always have been. Maybe that is what keeps it almost at the same level as the first.

That scene when Clark takes Lois to his home, those shots are superior. The way the white highlights not only his suit but just the simple colors of their eyes. Forgive me for nerding out on some damn coloring. Anyway, Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder have incredible chemistry. So when he is basically gives up his powers to be with Lois, it's believable.Sir there is no need for the dramatics in times of need! I get it but at the same time, its just not needed for any storyline.

I do love that we actually get General Zod in this one and who other than Terence Stamp could throw that kind of attitude into that role, I adore it. That scene in the White House was just top tier cheese and here for it. Also I love that the President is played by the grandpa shouting about his back pills in Christmas Vacation. Sorry I'm sure that's a niche reference. I did feel like the need to put Lex into the storyline was a tad too much. I would have much preferred him come in at the end of the film.

"I'm here to fight for truth, and justice, and the American way..."

Imagine thinking a nerd like me would ever rate this movie lower than a five. It's the movie that kicked started the superhero genre. And truthfully its better than most put out today.

Before anyone says a thing, I have seen this movie it has been a good twenty years since I have watched it in full though. Needless to say, I had an absolute blast revisiting this film after so long. Christopher Reeve was casted perfectly during this time in film history. The dude just had the look and carried himself exactly how one would during this time. And damnit did I forget how much I adored Margot Kidder as Lois Lane. She's just the right amount of smart ass, which makes it all the more enjoyable for me. Gene Hackman is still the best portrayal of Lex Luthor, though he hasn't had much competition sadly.

The scene when Superman meets Lois on the rooftop of her apartment to be interviewed was singlehandedly my favorite scene. When she asked him what color underwear she was wearing and then as she stepped away from the lead planter for him to just blurt out "Pink." was hilarious. As cheesy as the effects are to 2025 eyes, there still just a lot of fun to watch. I never felt like it took me out of the movie by any means, made me laugh a few times. I don't know I just enjoyed the journey again as a grown adult. Definitely need to put this movie back into rotation.

One final note: John Williams is a godsend! That dude creates the best scores around. And the fact that the man is not afraid to use the horn section… bless him.

Hands down my favorite sequel out of this entire franchise. And second favorite look of Michael in the entire franchise. This movie just works for me.

I love that they didn't speed up time and make it years later on down the road. Keeping it the night of after the events of the first is a brilliant way to go about it. Personally, the story of this one perfectly matches the original. The pacing of this film is fast moving in my opinion. And my God duides... the kills in this one are just ramped up. Though I think the bathtub kill will remain supreme to me there are so many scenes in this that are just awesome. But that Ben Tramer will never not make me laugh my ass off every time I rewatch this. The kid coming into the hospital with the razor in his mouth from biting into a piece of candy is so on brand for the time.

I will it every single time I see Michael walking around those babies it makes me insanely nervous. That ending scene of him getting shot as the blood drips down the mask like tears to him walking down the hall in flames. Good grief, what is there not to love about this film? I will never understand why so many rate this so low. it's an absolute banger.

"I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up, because I realized that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... evil."

There will never come a time in my life where I find this movie to be anything short of perfection put to screen. I do not care that Texas Chainsaw came first this movie is the film that put Slashers on everyone's radar. I love hearing stories about how this film started off in a few theaters then generated so much buzz that it was put out everywhere. And having parents that both saw it at the local drive-in just makes my heart happy. By the way I'm so glad that both of my parents dig horror, especially my mom.

This was one of my first horror movies I have a clear memory of seeing as a child and my parents debating if I was too young. And I have asked them years later if they were at all surprised with how much I love it. They collectively said "Not in the least bit. Because we saw how glued you were when we showed it to you." And I would like to add after that first viewing at maybe 4 or 5 (my brother was 7 or 8) we watched this every Halloween since. Alright I'll stop babbling about memories now...

The opening credits followed perfectly by the opening scene is just a flawless transition. The jack-o-lantern flickering to little Michael killing his sister in his clown suit, sets up the vibe nicely but the score... brings that tension out effortlessly. John Carpenter is a true legend when creating scores for his movies (along with others). Imagine having this small of a budget, even for its time, to make one of the most iconic films. Debra Hill and John Carpenter are without a doubt two my favorite writers of that time. Making such a simple premise into something terrifying.

All the performances were fantastic for being some of their first roles in film. Jamie Lee Curtis gave that perfect blend of feminine energy without being weak, despite her innocence she was willing to save those kids. I will always prefer the subtle strong female character over the in your face here me roar type. This just portrays high school friendship (especially in small town America) impeccably, I grew up with girls like them and I love it.

The lore of Michael Myers not being overly explained is one of my favorite things about these films. Sometimes people are just purely evil without any explanation. Thats what makes it more creepy. Over explaining lore or the depth of a character loses all the mystery that made them scary in the first place. That blank stare mixed with his face mask, use to scare the shit out of me as a kid. Good grief I have gone on too long with this, apologies... just know that i love this movie to the massive degree. Thanks for reading all of this if you did, its appreciated it.

You know this movie is incredibly weird but to me it’s the right kind of weird. Tim Burton has always been one of the most creative directors out there. You can’t really fault the guy for having his own flare in every project he does. Isn’t that the whole point to being creative?

Johnny Depp’s version of Willy Wonka is beyond bizarre but… the character in a nutshell is bizarre. Though I will always prefer Gene Wilder, he really does embrace the weird and it isn’t a bad thing. All the kids casted in this one were actually some of the least annoying kids out there. I never disliked the changes they made with the story here either. Gave its own spin on the original, which is what I like with remakes but it never took away from the original at the same time.

I think the thing that holds this movie back the most was not only the Oompa-Loompas was their songs as well. They are so bad and I do not like casting one dude for all of them and taking away their look. Even when I saw this in theaters back in 2005 I hated that aspects and truthfully still do.

"One day men will look back and say that I gave birth to the twentieth century..."

How in the world did I forget that Hagrid himself was the police sergeant in this? Guess that's how long it's been since I watched this.

I find this movie to be pretty underrated. Jack the Ripper has always been a fascinating case, became a little obsessed with reading about it after I saw this movie. I was twelve when this movie came out haha. Listen the real reason I ever even had this movie on my radar is because of Johnny Depp. This man during this time of his life was just perfection in my eyes, good grief.

Ian Holm is incredible as Sir William Gull, the innocent old man portrayal throughout the film is great. Lets be real, the dude is always good. I think when I initially saw this movie definitely was a little too harsh on Heather Grahams performance, seeing it through adult eyes she did just fine. Maybe I just had this thing about her being in the Austin Power/Boogie Nights movies before this. Should have watched either of those two movies then, nah probably not.

The pacing of the film never feels rushed or lagging to me. The storytelling keeps you fully engaged the entire 2+hrs runtime. The location setting is always going to intrigue me as well, Whitechapel did not seem like the place to be back then. Before i go, I love when the show the man who is Jack the Ripper and his eyes blacken. such a nice touch. When people are truly that evil their eyes do go black, its insane to witness.

"Listen, doll. That's 'cause they're all about where people come from. The only thing that's important is where someone's going..."

Pretty sure Michael Mann called up his casting director for this movie and required them to hire only the most attractive men for this film. And you know sir... I applaud you for that alone. Aside from them being attractive the amount of talent in this film is just stellar. Even the cameos from certain actors, so great! Make more movies like this please...

Johnny Depp. did his damn thing playing John Dillinger. you could tell that he was enjoying himself a little too much. But the other stand out, of course, is Christian Bale as Melvin Purvis. The scene when he calls up the FBI director (J. Edgar Hoover) for back up shows you how humble the man was. He knew that was no match to Dillinger or his men, I love when. they make the characters way more real and not this over the top hero.

Going off of that giving John his love interest makes the movie all more believable. Considering men of that time... i don't know liked exactly what he said, "I like baseball, movies, good clothes, fast cars, whiskey and you... what else you need to know?" How does one fault the writers or the director making the main character Human... I'm sorry but I will never understand that complaint. Plus Depp and Cotillard have great chemistry, made their relationship completely believable.

The movie itself could be ed off as just another of their genre, which I feel would be unfair. Especially for the time that this film was made, 2009 didn't exactly have loads of mob movies being pumped anymore. Michael Mann definitely outs his touch on every scene. From the way it's colored to the angle of certain shots mixed with shaky cam. The dude really should have done a found footage movie. Anyway, i love that you are thrown into the depression era of America. There is a stone unturned to make this of that era. Movies like this will always have my respect. Definitely a top 2 Mann film for me and I know thats a hot take.

I still watching this movie in theaters with my brother and renting it relentlessly afterwards until Blockbuster just gave me a copy before they closed down haha. Good times.

Side note: J. Edgar Hoover was such a piece of shit. 🤣 I said what I said.

It’s nothing short of a fun time and truthfully as silly as I was hoping it would be. Loved the Mad Max feel and the look the of the zombies was on brand for this time. I don’t mean that as a slight either. Not a top tier zombie movie but a fun one nonetheless.

You know what I love most about this series. That it ends with a nicely tied bow on top. Doesn’t leave anything open ended, just a conclusion. And excuse me for a minute but… Edward & Bella are damn good looking couple.

Still think the imprinting thing is super fucking weird though.

Hush your mouths… how does one not like watching Gigantic Robots fight each other along with monsters?

Is this the greatest? Hell no but it’s pretty damn entertaining. When the Jaegers are fighting each other in Sydney, pure gold!

Movie night with the mom tonight. And she finally wanted to see this since I’ve been bugging her for years about it. Needless to say, I asked what she would rate it and she immediately said “oh that’s a five. It felt like a Tarantino movie but not at the same time. It was a really good story.”

So my dudes that is a win for the night. To be honest though I knew she’d dig it. I personally love this film. The cast alone is just top tier!! And I love that he gave all of them a happy ending. Outside of those god damn hippies… 🤣

"Well, if you're waitin' for a woman to make up her mind, you may have a long wait..."

I do not know why it took me this long to finally see this entire film. Good grief did I love this movie. Is it my favorite Clint Eastwood movie? No but its a close second.

The location that they shot in this (Sun Valley, Idaho) is just absolutely stunning. I could look around the screen and just ire that solely but the movie as a whole is great. Mindblowing that this came out in 1985 when it feels like something that was made in the 60s/early 70s. Love when movies have that old school touch so effortlessly. Not saying that the 80s isn't quite a ways back now but still you know what I'm getting at.

I have to it I found the whole mom and daughter hot after Preacher was hilarious. I genuinely couldn't stop laughing at how damn horny these women were for him. I mean I get it he was a pretty damn good looking guy in his day.

That entire final 20mins of the film is what makes a great western to me. Blowing shit up with dynamite and then having shootouts. I mean c'mon... how do you not smile when see him just unload on a group of guys then slowly take the rest out one by one. It's pure gold my dudes. I had a good time with this one to say the least, definitely glad I grabbed the 4k. Because it looks realllll nice!

“It ruined your life? In the jungle, you must wait til the dice roll a five or eight…”

Even though it has been a good 8yrs since I’ve rewatched this movie, it felt like no time had ed at all. The amount of times I rewatched this as a kid is ridiculous. I know I wore that VHS out one summer.

I truly do not understand how anyone could not like this movie. Regardless of the nostalgia most millennials feel for this movie, it’s such a fun adventure film. The effects were pretty decent for the time. They used practical effects along with killer set designs, how does one complain? The monkeys look aged… who cares my dudes it was 1995! The hell are you comparing the effects of the 90s to todays anyway.

The entire storyline is such a unique concept and it was executed so well. Robin Williams was at the top of his game and good grief did all four of them have incredible chemistry. I love seeing a young Kirsten Dunst, so I might be biased but this is the movie that made me enjoy her acting to this day honestly. I just have a blast rewatching this, getting lost in the imagination that it took to create the scale of this movie. Damnit this movie is so good.

Ps did anyone else feel a wave of nostalgia for Rainforest Cafe when watching this, or is it just me? 🤣. Honestly though I used to love that restaurant! It’s been at least ten years since I’ve hit one up.
