Though one may be wary of watching yet another movie told through Zoom screens, the lovely Language Lessons captivates thanks to the compelling chemistry between Mark Duplass and Natalie Morales and its starkly sincere script.

Does Disney realize that they just got a whole new generation hooked on “enemies-to-lovers” fanfiction because of Raya and Namaari
(Yes that’s my sole takeaway from this second viewing. Yes this still rules.)
The rollicking Raya and the Last Dragon is a truly formidable feat of filmmaking from the widely adored Walt Disney Animation Studios, easily earning its place alongside cherished classics of years past thanks to the timely and touching tale it tells & all of its visually arresting action.

ALRIGHT, so, overall, I think WandaVision was an intriguing (if inconsistent, by the end) start for the Marvel Disney+ shows, and I’m beyoooond interested to see how they build on this foundation in the Spider-Man/Doctor Strange sequels. The cast is completely commendable - Emmy nods for Olsen, Bettany, and Hahn, STAT - and the sitcom framing is skillfully executed, but the more “Marvel-y” aspects do somewhat drag down the denouement at times; thankfully, above all else, the show ultimately succeeds at…
Lol, so turns out I did enjoy this way more than the original! It’s a bit cheesier/more family-friendly which may disappoint some fans of Murphy’s edgier fare, but the ensemble cast is still excellent across the board (with a special shout-out to newcomers Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, and Kiki Layne), and it’s got a really sweet story at its core, even if it is somewhat of a retread of the first film. Totally a streaming movie through and through, and not up to par with Brewer/Murphy’s last work (the dynamite Dolemite Is My Name) but a breezy watch nonetheless.

Episode 3
When I say that I SCREECHED as soon as I saw the S.W.O.R.D. logo on Monica’s necklace...
Honestly I get more obsessed with this show with each episode lol. Easily one of the most creative things Marvel has ever made (if not the most creative thing they’ve ever made) and even if we’re kinda starting to piece together where it’s headed, there’s still so much suspense and so many surface-level pleasures for sitcom fans like myself to enjoy, so I’m gonna remain enthralled until the very end. Emmys all around please and thank youuu!!!
A miracle of a movie tbh??? One of those times where you watch something and go “Wow this was Made For Me™” so that probably influences my praise a tad, but personal taste aside... this thing is a TRIUMPH. Rachel Sennott is gonna be a star, period, and this is easily one of the most captivating comedic performances I’ve seen in years. Emma Seligman is a towering talent behind the camera - capturing one of the most chaotic cinematic settings…
Most definitely the weakest title in “SpongeBob trilogy,” but it had enough heartfelt humor and truly chaotic cameos to keep me engaged for a 90 minutes or so.
‘04 will always be the OG.
“We invent the people we love.”
Sensual, stirring cinema at its most splendid. The first half is a sun-soaked story of young love and lust - and the fearlessness that accompanies such affairs - while the second deftly deconstructs this falsified fantasy and reveals the reality brewing beneath the surface. Maybe a bit too melodramatic for some, but I absolutely adored every minute.
Nine Days is an ethereal & emotional knockout.
Honestly, I’m speechless.
Edson Oda expertly explores the essence of existence with his simple yet soulful script, & Winston Duke delivers one of the most honest, heartfelt, & humane performances of the year.
Don’t miss it.
