Zach Leslie’s review published on Letterboxd:
I mentioned in my first review of Dune Part Two that I would have more to say after seeing it a second time.
And yeah, to be honest with you, I left more speechless after round two than I did after my first viewing on Sunday night.
I’ve never seen anything that’s made me feel quite like this. The sheer scale and spectacle is hard to comprehend. The world-building is so intimate that it almost feels like a real place I can escape to whenever I want to. These characters are so fully realized that their struggles became my own. I am able to fully empathize with and criticize their actions, sometimes in the same frame.
I was too young to see the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I was not alive for the original Star Wars trilogy, but I imagine the things I am trying to convey and how I am currently feeling are pretty similar to those experiences.
Simply one of my favorite theater experiences of the decade, both times I saw it, and it’s one of those movies they should honestly just leave in theaters forever.
Long live the fighters!!! 🏜️ 🐛
