this has the tone and is structured like an old school movie in a way that’s so hard to explain. just a classic Hollywood picture and goes against the grain for so many modern blockbusters. val kilmer’s segment is so nice

Charming little doc about one of my favorite Disney movies. But there’s always a clash with these “in house” Disney documentaries and the way information is presented. I don’t love the light bouncy music and cutesy drawings playing over grainy VHS footage featuring animators with bloodshot eyes saying things like “I want to be done with this fucking movie”

Just present the information to me like an adult! I know how hard it is to make a movie like this. I don’t need a layer of Disney magic over EVERYTHING. That was my issue with the behind the scenes stuff from Star Wars that Disney would produce as well. Everything was just a little too smooth and a little too friendly. Give me footage of George Lucas throwing his hands up in the air with no bells or whistles. Kids should genuinely see the struggle of trying to make a movie and all the challenges that come along with it.
