Before Sunrise

★★★★★ Rewatched

Probably my 5th or 6th viewing. This movie is perfect. I like it more every time I watch it. It is quite possibly my favorite of all time. So many perfect scenes and exchanges that I forget them between viewings. The "listening booth" scene is easily my favorite 45 seconds of any movie, but this viewing reminded how great the first kiss was.

Riveting docudrama that maybe dwelled a tad too long on the scientific handwringing and underreported the overwhelming cost to the layperson.

Parachute

Honest to a fault. Climax that was simultaneously unbelievable and predictable. Felt that the filmmakers went too far with some themes and were a bit cowardly with others.

Interesting story but far too forgiving of the players. Sexual assault was the only crime they didn't commit that night. Really wish this doc had delved more into the crimes of racism, misogyny, and privilege that led up to this story rather than treat the young men as heroes who would go on to dedicate their life fighting for justice like some Martha's Vineyard Avengers....

I am utterly amazed that so many people could've spent so much time, money, and artistic effort to make such a morose, boring, and lifeless movie.

EDIT: So apparently droll doesn't mean what I thought it meant.
