For 1933 I don't like the last movie, and Design for Living was disappointing, but all the others are easily recommended. The top two are favorites. Let me know if you have any recommendations for this year.

All the movies on this list I've seen since January 1, 2016. I've been gaining a lot of ground on my 30's viewing in the last few months, and this year is the prime beneficiary of that. I would recommend everything on this list, especially the first three, which all are great in different ways. The last movie on this list was my most obscure movie seen this year for a while. It is really silly, but oddly fun.

So far so good with 1946. Only five movies qualify, but four of them are great, and the last one, The Harvey Girls, is arguably the best movie I've seen about a chain restaurant in the late 1800's.

I am well overdue for re-watching It's a Wonderful Life. It is one of my favorites, but I'm not sure if it will beat The Best Years of Our Lives.

I'm not very good at ranking movies. By the time I get around to making a list I've forgotten how I've felt about whatever directorial choices were made or that the ending was weak. My memory regarding my own opinions is terrible.

However, since I arrived here about 2 years ago I have rated all my films with stars, and I've even reviewed a few. So because of that, and because I need to procrastinate, I've decided to start ranking the films I have seen since I ed this site. Please note, I am only ranking within a specific year. I could not process anymore than that.

I have two rules:

1) I will only rank films from years where the number of movies I have seen is five or greater. So I will be missing quite a few years, at least in the early going.

and

2) Only movies I have seen since ing Letterboxd in 2014 will be ranked.

This won't be a big deal in the early going as most of my viewing of classics has taken place since then. But once I hit the 70's and later I will be missing MANY films that I have seen, and loved, but haven't seen recently enough. This is also a personal method for seeing what my viewing habits are of late, and seeing what I need to rewatch.

As for 1932, every movie on this list so far has been somewhat enjoyable. I would easily recommend any of the first four, and number one is now an all-time favorite that will be tough to dethrone. Of course, if anyone has any of their own recommendations for this year please throw them my way.

1939 is a good year, and I have seen a bunch of films from it, but only 5 in the last two years. Gone with the Wind definitely needs a rewatch. The only weak one on the list is the last movie. Only Angels Have Wings may be one of the best movies I have ever seen (but I always like to see something twice before definitively making a statement like that).
