"How am I supposed to heal if I can't feel time?"

This is my third viewing now, and, just as before, I watched in awe and was left astonished. Just like like Leonard, I forget, and need to rewatch to remind myself of its brilliance. Not only does it hold endless amounts of complexity (having more to take in on each watch), but it is also an incredible portrayal of loss, grief, and the importance of memory. As a whole,…

"You keep dancing with the devil... one day he's gonna follow you home."

After a considerably long wait for cinema to really kick off this year, and just as we were nearing starvation from original ideas, Ryan Coogler fed is well with Sinners; and I mean fed us WELL. You have no idea how thankful I am to at last be saying those words. Earning an immediate place as number one in my 2025 ranked listing, Sinners is a new,…

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

★★★½ Liked Watched

Everything I said in my review for its predecessor applies to this - this film is quite literally the original storyline copy and pasted down to every detail, narrative structuring and all. If not for all of the mediocre aspects forming an outcome of guilty pleasure, neither of these films would hold up in the slightest. What initiated to become a modern-day Indiana Jones instead turned into a goofy classic for rather niche audiences. A sequel was made undoubtedly to milk it into a film series, and it is noticeablely worse, but it's just too much of a comfort to not enjoy.

From the moment Guardians of the Galaxy begins, it sets itself up to be distinguished from the traditional Marvel movie. There is a wide range of reasons that combine to it being distinguished, however a major factor that makes this film so incredibly rewatchable, and hold timeless amounts of iconic value, is its flawless choice of music, and the impact of it is initiated through its opening title sequence alone - the unexpected "I'm Not In Love" (10cc) needledrop,…

I'm convinced this film would've been good if not for the unsettling teacher x student relationship. However, I saw someone make a point that the directors intention with the relationship could've been to show that the "crime" people despised the teacher for was not his attraction towards a student but a man, so now I'm questioning my opinion towards this film. That theory will never be confirmed though, and this film is also unfortunately covered in flaws that stop it…

Well it's approaching 28 years since its release, and still no apocolypse film had topped it. This film, no matter how low quality it is in appearance, will always be one of the best depictions of zombies and infection out there, as well as one of the greatest films that Britain has ever produced. (On top of that, the best horror soundtrack you will ever hear.) Emptying entire streets of a capital city to ensure the realism of a scene…
