Way back in 1993, this was the first "film" I made.

It was for film school, shot on 16mm reversal with no sync sound.

And I won the award for Best First Year Film!

Standards were different back then.

Rewatched

After a very slow start, Unboxing Insanity had a pretty good festival run. And with an awesome screening at Adam Riot Thorn's Son of Terriblefest, the run is over!

You can give it a gander online now at

It's too bad. Anyone could tell the lead actress was giving it all, but it's such a shame she had such cliche, dull stuff to work with.

The only thing I was rooting for was the end credits coming quickly. Come on end credits!

A bunch of dudes in the woods present these found footage shorts, and then criticize them for how bad they are. They aren't wrong... but still, what a completely fucked up way to make a film.

Then something happens to them and people talk about how awesome they were.

I was hoping for an homage to those Japanese found footage presentations like Tokyo Videos of Horror or Sealed Video, but I suspect no one on the crew has ever heard of these.

However, the Sirens looked good in the short that wasn't even found footage. Geez.

The world is run by Lars Ulrichs and James Hetfields and we are all Kirk Hammetts saying, "C'mon guys, can't we all just get along?"

Kirk Hammett is an unsung people's hero.

Just awful.

I knew I was in for trouble when the killer calls in a murder he committed to the police, and the cops who arrive can't even be bothered to keep him for questioning. And it seems he keeps committing murders in the same van the cops discovered the bodies in.

There are so many ridiculous moments in the film. A deaf person listening at the door to hear if the killer is still out there. Police letting a…
