al pacino’s review published on Letterboxd:
Denis Villeneuve is a very important voice of big budget cinema. his meticulous detail and scope is known; he crafts these worlds and labors over their specificity and then looks at them from the outside. blends impressionism and expressionism. an epic of power, spirituality, mythos, tribalism and politics set against such a breathtaking feat of a design... that also ends up being about a boy struggling with his future, his legacy, and we come with him as he finds his way through this exhausting world. It’s no longer simple desert power or bloodline power, it’s power over all.
