Very obviously inspired by Studio Ghibli films, this Pakistani animation film does an amazing job at capturing the vibe of modern more serious anime. No 3D nonsense, all hand drawn. Kratt the heck was this? Estonia delivers yet again, this time with a wonderfully atmospheric horror film. The opening scene is amazing, and the music and all the dark fantasy elements are great. The procession of the dead definitely stood out. It is a bit of a shame that after a while the pace settles down and the film becomes more normal. It's still good, but gimme more flying Kratts or dead people or whatever else they could've cooked up.

Wow! Ozu films are known for being about next to nothing, but having the quality to suck you in and make you feel like you're part of the story. This one certainly tops the list in of the former and does really well in the latter.

I'd give this film 4/5 if it hadn't been for Chishû Ryû, but my goodness was he fantastic! 4.5/5, and one of the best films I have seen so far this year!

A wife is on trial for murdering her husband when they, and a male friend, were out climbing. Was it murder, was it necessary to save two lives, or maybe both?

Everything here is fantastic. You're constantly left wondering what is true and…
