]]>They don't make them like this anymore... Some jokes haven't aged well, but it's still an absolute classic.
]]>David Ayer is at his best when making films like this and End of Watch. Learning about the characters, their relationships, and how the environment they work in affects them.
]]>Not what I was expecting at all. It reminded me of The White Lotus in many ways. Effective writing and a great story!
]]>Memento is always so interesting to watch. It challenges you as a viewer and keeps you guessing. However, the craziest aspect of this film is that it's considered one of Christopher Nolan's "poor" films.
Overall Rating: 8/10 📸🖊️
]]>Don't even consider watching it. It's an absolute waste of time.
]]>A Star Is Born is undeniably a sad and touching film, but I can't help but feel that all these types of movies directed by Bradley Cooper are just Oscar bait.
Overall Rating: 6/10 🎤🎸
]]>I wasn't expecting much from this, but it's a great 90s courtroom drama that's excellent when you're unsure of what to watch.
Overall Rating: 7/10
]]>Roy Durden, Aaron Durden? Ironically, this seems like a prequel to Fight Club.
]]>Jake Gyllenhaal was really on a generational run in the early 2010s. It's insane that he gave performances like this, and Enemy, Nightcrawler, Prisoners, Brothers, etc. and still never won an Oscar 🤯
]]>So this is what Burt was up to before getting severed
]]>One of the most enjoyable theatre experiences ever! I had a grin from ear to ear the entire runtime. I might have to rewatch this again before it's taken out of theatres.

]]>I knew this was going to be good, but damn! Ryan Coogler, once again, delivers an excellent film starring Michael B. Jordan. It's got style, charm, amazing sound design and story-telling. All of the characters feel fleshed out and you grow to care for them, given certain circumstances in which you should be actively rooting against them winning. The 1st post-credits scene was also phenomenal, a masterclass of acting and directing. I can't recommend this film enough, an early favourite for next year's Oscars, and perhaps, my favourite Ryan Coolger film.
Overall Rating: 8/10 🧛🏻
]]>Split has easily some of the best directing and acting I've seen. While it does slightly over-extend itself and could have ended a little shorter, it can be easily ignored by James McAvoy's performance and the excellent filmmaking of Shyamalan. I still don't understand all the hate this man gets. The build-up, story building, and tight, confined, storytelling was great, etcetera.
Overall Rating: 8/10
]]>I can't get over how much I love these early 2000s M. Night Shyamalan films. This one, in particular, is his take on the Superhero genre. Instead of all the massive set pieces, fights, etc., it focuses entirely on characters and motivations. While the parallels and twists are obvious, it still plays out well thanks to great directing and acting. Great film!
Overall Rating: 7/10 🚊
]]>I've been sleeping on M. Night Shyamalan for too long, these early 2000s movies from him are great. His films, particularly this one, almost remind me of watching Goosebumps as a kid and the mystery surrounding that.
Overall Rating: 7/10 👽
]]>Psssst, "I see dead people" 🎶🎶🎶
]]>Kevin Spacey's character is pretty ironic in this, considering the fact that he is a pedophile in real life...
All that aside, this is probably Sam Mendes's best work. Good film!
Every scene without Al Pacino is an absolute drag. Longest 2 hours and 38 minutes of my life. This could've been so much better.

]]>Best theatre experience I've ever had!
"CHICKEN JOCKEY!" 🗣️
Most overstimulating film ever made
]]>It's criminal that Heat didn't receive one Oscar nomination. Al Pacino and Robert De Niro give some of the best performances of their careers in this. On top of that, Michael Mann crafts a 2-hour and 50-minute film that is stylistic, entertaining, and well-made. It's easily in the top 100 films of all time for me!
Overall Rating: 9/10
]]>Like a breath of fresh air, Black Bag is the type of stylistic espionage film that you never knew you needed. Michael Fassbender is excellent as always, and Cate Blanchett complements him well. The story is very intriguing and keeps you guessing as the audience.
Overall Rating: 7/10 🕵️♂️

]]>Underrated Hayden Christensen role!
Source: Trust me...
Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal killed it because this was too formulaic to succeed otherwise
]]>Holy shit! That's [Title Card]
]]>Thank god for Tom Hardy or this would be dreadful
]]>Fun movie. It also made me think about a Blair Witch-style project where the movie is the lost TV episode instead
]]>Damn! What a great story here, but some even better performances from both McConaughey and Leto in this.
]]>Aftersun is unlike anything else. Paul Mescal is phenomenal and delivers an amazing performance that made me rethink everything my parents probably went through and shielded me from.
Overall Rating: 8/10 📹
]]>Timothée Chalamet's inspiration for this role was definitely Machine Gun Kelly
]]>Woody Allen writes a weird movie all about Woody Allen!
]]>It was a bold decision to film this in First Person POV with a 2-hour and 20-minute runtime. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me, not really resonating with me emotionally, which sucks because I was looking forward to this. Still, the story was great and brought awareness to something I had no idea about.
Overall Rating: 6/10
]]>Nominated for Best Writing (Original Screenplay)... 👀🫤
]]>"Chi-Car-Go," as old Canadian Hockey Fans would say, had me so aggravated. I'm not sure if I hate musicals or just really dislike this one.
]]>It's a real shame this was barely played in theatres because I would've loved to see this on the big screen. Such a moving and emotional story that's very easy to connect with. It's all the sweeter when the credits roll and you see the actual cast are the ones who lived this experience. On top of that, there are two Oscar-worthy performances from Colman Domingo and Clarence Maclin. Unfortunately, Clarence Maclin didn't get nominated for ing Actor. To me, the nuance of his acting is special and beats at least two performances on that ballot this year. Either way, I can't recommend this film enough!
Overall Rating: 8/10 🎭
]]>I'm glad I finally got around to watching this. It's been on my watchlist for years. Wesley Snipes is excellent, as always! The story was a pretty interesting look into the Ronald Regan era of American politics, not that I understand everything about it, but I liked learning a new perspective on it. The story was great, but it also felt like it could've ended 5 different times.
Overall Rating: 6/10 🗽🔫
]]>Easily some of the Coen Brothers' best work. A real love letter to the time and what so many struggling artists and people have to endure: Getting beat up by life over and over again and never catching a break.
Overall Rating: 8/10 🎸🗽
]]>This was an excellent film and really well made. It had me glued in for the entire runtime. Super captivating! I love Edward Berger's work and am excited to see what else he does going forward. Ralph Fiennes is also amazing, as always, I'm super happy he got the Oscar nom for this.
Overall Rating: 8/10 🇻🇦
]]>I couldn't stop seeing Michael Jackson every time Janet Jackson was on the screen. 😂
]]>Very anti-climactic. Time for this franchise to end
]]>Doesn't hold up to the first two films, but this was still a good bit of fun and has a lot of charm that the first two had.
]]>Not sure why I watched this, but I can't say it wasn't funny
]]>I need that Kendrick Minifig ASAP!
]]>Very formulaic, but such a nice story that is very well done. However, I don't think it would've been possible without Mahershala Ali. What a performance!
]]>This could've been so much better! Great performances and an interesting idea for a horror/thriller. I just wish they would've done more with it.
]]>I wasn't expecting to get as invested in this as I did. Great movie!
