Nonsense Ramblings:

⚠️WARNING⚠️ this is gonna be a long one. I got memories to release here. If you don't care about my life scroll down to the part that says The Actual Review:

Everyone has those deep, dark, hidden memories. We even have memes about it. Princess Mononoke was one of these memories for me until I was about 18. Occasionally I'd just be strolling on down the street and then I'd see a picture on my phone or something…

Sometimes this movie makes me feel really small and sometimes it makes me think I can smile at the oncoming world no matter how big it is. Today it made me small.

This year I got married and experienced all the joy that comes from spending your life with someone who is perfect for you. We've also been continuing to work through problems with our relationship, small and large. Right now she is in Oregon while I'm in South Korea…

I wanted to watch something special for my three thousandth film on LB. Obayashi+baby Asano was a good start, but the plot that featured a heavy dose of nostalgia sold me. The amount of people who have seen it was a little bonus.

Anyways, this didn't floor me, but it was a fun watch. Very sweet, had some fun quirkiness, and I had a good time. Book it! 3k!

My second theater viewing of this movie came and went without an initial review because I was writing a 20 page paper on it in my head. Many months have past, I'm pretty sure about my feelings and takes on this movie+its meaning, and I no longer feel like writing a long review. Watched with some friends on both trips to the theaters and I am glad to have seen this in theaters twice. Best movie of last year without a doubt.

Advance screening at Alamo! Probably the most fun I've had in theaters this year. So exciting, and a true ensemble cast. I love Ana de Armas so it was nice to see her in a decent role again.

The only dig against the movie I have is the guessing game was a touch too easy. I'm not great at seeing seeing ahead in thriller type movies, especially a dead on who-dunnit. Somehow in this one I knew what was coming…

I've been itching to rewatch this since seeing it on its release in Korea. Interestingly, my opinion of it was almost the exact same, despite not being able to understand more than a tenth of the dialogue on my first viewing. This time around the humor hit a whole lot more (as you could imagine, actually being able to understand and all) and the tension bit harder. Everything stepped up a notch, except for the ending. Final sequence is the…
