Rewatch May 2023 at the New Beverly Cinema in L.A. What a great experience for a great film!

I've never played the game, but what's the point of comparing it to a shooter? Nothing. "Borderlands" is one of the biggest flops in movie history, but why?
Visually, the film is really great! A lot of time and money went into the set design. The characters are crazy, the story is not bad and the film never gets boring. There is always something going on, always details to discover, always something to smile or laugh about.

As a stand-alone film, it's not too bad. Especially the gore and splatter effects are excellent and worth seeing. If it weren't for the bad design of the main character (hair, bad tattoos, clothes), a better soundtrack and more emotional depth to the character, it would have scored more points.
Let's face it, even the 1994 original doesn't have any outstanding character development either, and yet you feel much more for the character of Eric Draven in the original than…
