Tiktokification directly sautéing the brain, prophecies of body cam politics, paranoia, industrial music, Los Angeles in Hegelian end days, great script, camerawork, amazing soundtrack and interesting themes on the ephemera of memories. I do love a film that emphasizes how we have car fires on every block here in Los Angeles.

Little metaphor for pre-war rise in fascism which says that the only way to deal with a fascist is to kill the fascist. I could look at ida lupino forever

I’m starting to think that Ken Russell is up there with Cassavetes as top filmmaking wife guys, except Russell is completely schizophrenic, what starts as a campy old LA, night in the life of a prostitute rapid fire of snappy one-liners turns eventually into surprisingly heartfelt dialogues on vulnerability,  the human desire to connect and sex and love

Anthony Perkins returning to form as a rabid and homocidal preacher wielding a bladed vibrator, neon lights and cheap plastic masking a poignant fear of being known that feels relevant to this day and a batshit soundtrack/score by rick Wakeman, I enjoyed this one a lot

Started off interesting with the themes of grieving and disembodiment what it is to have a dead body etc etc but lost me at the sister in law being horny for being a facsimile of the dead wife and fell off hard from there, nonsensical conspiracy and writing, love you David but this was a miss for me
