Moonlight goes beyond the pretension of being only a visual poem, it encomes many concepts such as childhood, cruelty, sexualit and rejection (Never victimization as has been pointed out ) as few films dare.
It is not about the minorities or about being politically correct, the film is about the silent hell with which many human beings live throughout their lives.
