Saw an advance screening of this back in 2006 and it blew my mind. I distinctly telling my friends at school how the new Mission Impossible movie was amazing and was going to be the film of the summer. JJ really had us all in a chokehold in the mid-2000s.

Anyway, 19 years later, it’s basically fine. The Rome sequence is brilliant and Phillip Seymour Hoffman steals every scene he’s in (as always). But I was surprised how so much of this is dull and ugly. The style of the action scenes reminded a lot of Die Hard 4, but even that film is better.

100% going to this restaurant. Respect to all the nonnas (and Linda Cardellini). Much disrespect to Trump apologist Vince Vaughn.

Why is this shot like Raging Bull?

Unbearably flat. Every character should watch this movie and they’d fall asleep just fine.
