Forever one of my absolute favorites, and definitely my favorite Cronenberg film. It needs no explaination but I'll give you one anyway. Firstly, Jeff Goldblum does such an amazing job evolving throughout the film. Literally. And it's heart-wrenching to watch, you feel such a genuine despair and pity for Brundle. You feel the weighted humanity of the situation and that's what makes it so horrific, in my opinion. Secondly, the SFX are just *mwah* chef's kiss. It's disgusting, deliciously disgusting. Cronenberg has always been a body horror special effects beast, that's just fact. And thirdly, the tagline to end all taglines, "Be afraid, be very afraid."
