Love the 70s placement. Tone is intriguing (even though the tone established in the opening credits is very much abandoned 5 minutes later.) Gaap's portrayal of a demon is fun and interesting. And the idea had promise.
Unfortunately there were way too many moments that made me stop and think "what the hell is happening here?". Overall, the rules of the universe are just too incomprehensible for me too fully enjoy the experience.
Not for me. I get I was meant to feel uncomfortable but damn.
Anything cerebrally satisfying feels lost in the sheer absurdity of it all. Any reflection on life or beauty standards is drowned out by my over active gag reflex. Any "profound" statement about culture that might have been intended is as absent as subtely is from this film.

For people who are into this sort of thing. Power to you. But I'm not.
Something beautiful happens when sci-fi stories use future tech to tell a human story without just exploring how the technology could be dangerous.
This movie avoids the common theme of: How mught future technology bring out the worst in humanity? How might it cause us to lie, fuck, kill, and exploit each other in new and elaborate ways.
The story is more gentle and mature. Technology is advanced but we are still human. Death is still terrifying, marriage is still…
