Sad, lonely, tender, beautiful, thoughtful, terrifying

Perfect messy film, exactly what I want out of this kind of neo-noir, grim, a huge bummer, & wildly unsatisfying. Elliot Gould is great.
Striking to me that the only consolation he gets (outside of learning the truth, which sucks) is the opportunity to dole out justice, punishment, to spread the suffering around a little & go home.
And a tiny harmonica, I guess.
