This film is one of the movies that truly made me fall in love with cinema. I watched it when I had just started getting into films, around summer 2023, and I watching it at the same time as a friend. I honestly had no idea what to expect, but it completely blew me away. It was incredibly intense and even scary at times, especially from my perspective back then. The suspense was on another level, and the way the story was told and brought to life was gripping from start to finish.
I also watched a documentary about the real case the movie is based on, and I have to say the film captured it really well. They managed to turn it into something that felt both chilling and fascinating. I this also being the first film I saw with Jake Gyllenhaal, and it left a strong impression on me. To this day, I still think it’s one of the best films ever made. I definitely need to rewatch it soon.

I watched this movie not long after its release, when it became available on Disney+. At the time, I was still a bit younger and expected something completely different. mostly because Pixar films are usually just funny animated movies. But this one had real depth.
The storyline is incredibly well done, and I think the film is only around two hours long. Even though it’s been a while since I last saw it, I still have really good memories of it and clearly how emotional it was. Maybe I was even a bit too young to fully grasp it back then I’m not sure. I should probably give it a rewatch now. I mean, it’s been like five years or so.
Still, I wanted to finally review it because I think it’s a truly exceptional Pixar film that really stands out from the rest. In my opinion, most newer Pixar movies are kind of average, but this one was something different. with a powerful story, beautiful animation, and an absolutely amazing soundtrack. Honestly, such a beautiful film.
And guys, I managed to convince my next friend to get Letterboxd – feel free to check out his , he follows everyone back!

I watched this movie about two years ago during a summer road trip. I still my dad saying, “It’s a real classic!” — so I decided to give it a shot. But honestly, I ended up being pretty disappointed. I wouldn’t call it a bad film, but I personally found it quite dull. The story didn’t grab me, and even though it was well-made, it just wasn’t my kind of movie.
I think I expected something different — maybe a bit more action. Instead, it leaned heavily into romance, which just didn’t do it for me. The concept with the planes was actually pretty cool, but the execution felt underwhelming.
What really surprised me, though, was the sequel. I watched it later on and ended up really enjoying it. It was everything the first one wasn’t — exciting, engaging, and just way more my style. I’m still not sure why the first part didn’t click with me. Maybe it was just the tone or the pacing.
That said, I’d be open to rewatching the original sometime soon. With some distance and a fresh perspective, I might appreciate it more now. But as it stands, it’s a film that barely makes it into the “okay” category for me — even though it does have a few genuinely thrilling moments. The sequel, though? Easily a standout.

]]>I also watched this movie sometime during the summer of 2023—mainly because Ryan Gosling played the lead role. Back then, I was a huge Ryan Gosling fan, and honestly, that whole Ryan Gosling phase was just something else—such a strong era.
As for the movie itself, both in of the story and how it was made, I have to it I didn’t enjoy it that much. It wasn’t particularly gripping or suspenseful for me. Even though it did become quite emotional toward the end—and the plot twist was genuinely intense and completely unexpected, which I absolutely have to give the film credit for.
Still the film itself, in my opinion, wasn’t all that engaging. So in the end, I’d call it a solid movie with an incredible plot twist—one I really didn’t see coming.

I watched this movie sometime during the summer of 2023, and I I had absolutely no expectations. It was just a random morning during the holidays, and I felt like watching a movie. This one happened to catch my eye, and without thinking much, I put it on.
By the time it ended, I was honestly surprised—in a really good way. I knew the main actor from Better Call Saul, but considering the film’s theme, it didn’t even feel like your typical Jason Sad movie. And while the movie probably doesn’t have the most groundbreaking plot, I have to say: it was just incredibly fun to watch.
I still exactly how I felt watching it. It didn’t blow me away because it was so well-made or deep—it just entertained me from start to finish. I’d even compare it to John Wick 1 in of its tone and the way it flows. Just a really enjoyable film.
]]>Even though it’s been almost two years since I first watched this film, I finally wanted to write a review and thought I’d do a longer one this time about one of my favorite movies. I watched this film before I really became a true movie lover. I saw the first part back then with my dad, and the second part happened to be available on Amazon Prime, so I decided to check it out.
I didn’t have high expectations since the first one wasn’t all that great — but I was very positively surprised. The film has an amazing story, the characters are just perfect, and it strikes a great balance between comedy and seriousness — it’s never too over the top.
It also just feels like a different kind of superhero movie, and definitely one of the best DC films of all time in my opinion. I’ve been meaning to rewatch it for quite a while now, but I just haven’t gotten around to it. It’s not currently on any streaming service, and I haven’t found another way to watch it yet. I really hope I’ll still enjoy it as much on a rewatch.

]]>After reading the book Red Dragon, I was really excited to watch the Hannibal series, and over the past few weeks, I finished all three seasons — and I have to say, it’s an absolute masterpiece. I barely have any real criticism. Season two and three are both a 10 out of 10, and I’d rate season one a strong 9 out of 10.
However, one thing that did bother me in season three was the main villain — the Red Dragon. Even though I love the movie and really enjoyed the book, I felt like he didn’t get nearly enough screen time in the show. It felt like he was only mentioned a few times, and the portrayal just didn’t work for me. I found the version in the book much more compelling.
Still, that’s just a small issue in an otherwise brilliant series. Overall, it’s an incredibly gripping and well-crafted show with lots of great twists and nearly perfect characters — so I’d give the series a full 5 out of 5 stars.

After finishing Twin Peaks, I just had to watch this series. I hoped it would give me some answers to the many questions I had while watching the original. But instead of answering anything, it just left me with even more questions. I already thought Twin Peaks was crazy, but this continuation? It’s on a whole different level of insanity.
At first, I have to it, I was really disappointed. The first five or six episodes were nothing like what I expected. I had imagined something completely different, and for a while, it felt like a totally new show. The original Twin Peaks characters barely appeared, and the new ones didn’t interest me at all. But from episode eight onward, things started to improve. While I did find some episodes boring, others were absolutely incredible. And then there’s the ending—just a masterpiece.
That being said, I wouldn’t go as far as to say that this continuation is better than the original. There are a few reasons for that. First, some episodes felt slow and dragged on. Second, the unique Twin Peaks vibe that made the original so special just isn’t the same here. Lastly, I think the antagonists in the original series were far more compelling, and while there were plenty of plot twists in this one, I found them stronger in the first two seasons.
Overall, though, it’s a really well-done continuation. But I have to be honest—I understood absolutely nothing. When the final episode ended, I just sat there for five minutes trying to process what I had just seen. Then I spent half an hour asking ChatGPT to explain the series to me. It managed to clarify some things, but even AI doesn’t fully understand what’s going on in this show.
What is Twin Peaks even about? 🙏😭

This series was just a mix of a fever dream and the best thing ever. The first season was absolutely perfect—I have nothing to criticize there. However, I found the second season much weaker. After the Laura Palmer case was solved, other storylines emerged, but they didn’t interest me as much. Some characters disappeared completely, and the events of the last ten episodes just didn’t appeal to me. Towards the end, aside from the last two episodes, I honestly found it pretty boring.
Still, the show remains one of my favorites. It’s so unique—these dream worlds and surreal elements make it completely crazy, and the first season along with the first half of season two are just perfect. The ending is left open, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. But I’m already excited for Twin Peaks: The Return. One thing’s for sure—I’ll never forget this series. It has a vibe that I don’t think any other show has or ever will.
Im gonna miss this Show 😔

]]>The order I’m watching it and the reviews (linked) are below!!!
Started on 21.8 and finished on 6.9. 13 movies in total over 14 days. This was the first time I've seen a complete franchise "in one go". I found the "challenge" quite interesting and it was also quite fun.
If you watch them one after the other in the right order, some things make more sense. If I had to choose between the Predator franchise and the Aline franchise, I'd say I'd go for the Predator movies. But I find it difficult because I also really like the Alien films.
The best movie of the series is "Predator" (1987) closely followed by Aliens. The worst movie is AVP2 I don't think I have to say many. The most underrated movie is "Predator 2" or "Avp" both good movies that are very underrated. The biggest down grade is "Predators" from 4.5 to 3.5 (even giving it 3.5 was hard). And the biggest glow up is: "The Predator" (2018) from 1 to 3 stars.
I highly recommend this franchise and really like the Predators and Aliens movies. Even though I gave some movies 2.5 stars I thought they still had something about them that I liked.
