one of the better films i've had to watch for class

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
the way people described that one scene i expected some batshit crazy gore and deaths like a piranha (2010) type of thing
it's definitely as crazy as that one scene in terrifier (2016), but i guess i assumed i would see more of that throughout the film rather than just towards the end
don't get me wrong the scene definitely made me hold my breath, but if anything the sounds of the cave dwellers footsteps creeped me out the most…
not as terrible as i but still not my favorite
honestly the guy that plays freddy was doomed from the start - no one will ever top robert englund, his performance just cannot be replicated/reimagined
although it has its flaws, i can it it's pretty creative and the ending is insane
has its moments but unfortunately didn't work much for me
feels too polished and much too serious
perhaps i would have enjoyed this more if it had explored more of the identities gary used and really leaned into the comedy aspect
good performance from glen powell nonetheless - patrick bateman impression made me laugh a bit
