Pretty cool - kind of an involved plot, but they were going for something creative and had some memorable scenes. Doesn’t feel as snappy or fresh as Once Upon a Time in China, but still curious to see what else was percolating in HK at the time
Probably fair to say you can totally skip this one - lot of camp that seems unintended, and the fighting is way more cookie cutter here. “No beer for chinamen” is now part of my lexicon, but nothing else really worth mentioning
Surprisingly excellent - marvelous pacing, fine comedic moments and visual style, and overall a strong balance of kid-friendly drama and heartwarming humor. Can’t go wrong with this
