This is the first Mission: Impossible movie in 20 years that feels like it knows how ridiculous it’s become. If you know that MI1 and MI3 are the only emotionally grounded entries in this franchise and that everything from Ghost Protocol to Dead Reckoning is Cruise in increasingly silly superhero cosplay then this film is pure validation. It’s big and camp, but importantly re that Ethan Hunt used to be a guy not just a weird myth. Tries to give…

Don't even know where to begin with some of the scenes I just witnessed. The underwater sequence made me nauseous because not only do I hate water, but I hate confined spaces so I was completely locked in lol. Unfortunately, the script just didn't feel as tight as it could have been, so the first hour in particular felt a bit rough, save for the "should you choose to accept it" speech. I did still tear up during a few…

A billion dollars incoming.

My daughter’s review would be “too loud, why the fuck did you take me to a movie playing in Dolby, I’m 20 months old?” and my defense would be “oh my god I’m so sorry they didn’t tell it’d be in Dolby, I hope I didn’t cause permanent damage”
