Finding Nemo was an absolute joy to revisit. A story about a clownfish looking for his son who gets picked up by humans and the journey his father has to take to find him. Despite not being the biggest fan of Brooks or DeGeneres they do an absolutely incredible job voice acting in this particular film. Dory has that annoyance to her that, while grating at first, eventually turns into endearing because she shows that she does care about helping Marlin find his son, she just doesn't quite know how to help. There's not really another character that I can think of, especially in animation, that compares to the innocence that Dory has and she really makes a good bit of the movie. Nemo is interesting in his own right, having the idea that he knows better than his father. The opening scene to this movie should get talked about as much as the opening scene from Up does because, and my apologies to Elie, but she got to live her life to the fullest until she was old and gray while Marlin's wife gets ate up right after childbirth! Talk about how dark this movie is, which I love. Speaking of dark not only is the tone of it a lot darker than most animated features but being in the deep sea has that murky feel to it that you don't really get with a lot of movies today since animation for water has become so clean like in Luca. I give this movie a 5/5 though, it's absolutely fantastic and can manage to not tell a joke for five to ten minutes at a time to give Marlin, Dory, Nemo, and the rest of the characters chances to breathe and reflect on where they are. Crush has to be my favorite since he was the first ever stoner type character I was ever introduced to and I love him for that.
