Now that almost a week has ed, I've devalued the film again by half a point. Unfortunately, we have here one of those representatives of the typical "heart-warming modular melodrama with a good ending" a la Green Book & Co, which also uses its modular elements accordingly in order to squeeze a little tear out of the viewer's eye here and there. Unfortunately, it does this very obviously and also feels far too long. It didn't really reach me, but I'm probably not the target group either.
Aki Kaurismäki's latest work is surprisingly positive! Nevertheless, a typical Kaurismäki film from front to back, which strongly follows his proletarian trilogy. The set designs, the characters and the music are once again great - and with Maustetytöt there was even (at least for me) a new musical discovery.

„I don’t have anything big planned. Just a giant blowout party with all the Barbies, and planned choreography, and a bespoke song. You should stop by.“ (Barbie)
Come on Barbie, let‘s go party!
