Basically the Academy's excuse not to place animated films in the overall "best feature" category (most of the time) (I am having a very Normal One about this)

Ultimately, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences really needs an influx of animation enthusiasts into their ranks. I recognise this might be a pointless proposal, however. Then again, awards shows are arbitrary anyway and I could just as easily make a trophy for the sake of gifting it to whoever works on any of these feature films presented here, winners or not.
