Godzilla, my beloved. my caring girlfriend. a baby with pure intentions.
this movie was everything i dreamed it would be and more, so much more.
all the right decisions were made. there are things that i root for relentlessly whenever i watch a monsterverse movie or a jurassic movie and the most important thing is the LIGHT. something that drove me insane in the last Jurassic World, the lack of light. sorry but if you're making a movie with a creature as mystifying as a dinosaur or a titan, nobody is scared. no one is there to be in the dark and to be like "oh my god! i wonder what's looming in the night!" yeah, no. we want to see it. we want to see ALL the details of those monsters. because god damn, they are BEAUTIFUL. and Godzilla vs. Kong did everything right. the light, the DAYLIGHT, those insane lights in Hong Kong... Oh my god the beautiful details of my beloved Godzilla (who won against Kong, another win for me and my girlfriend but don't be mad, monkey fans)... no seriously she was so beautiful. show me those titans under the sun and i'll give you a 4 star rating without thinking any further. no seriously, the audacity, the power, the beauty of the choice to put a monster under full spotlights... you don't understand i am obsessed. under the sun you cant hide anything. you can't hide a titan. you've got to look at them from every angle. and WHAT ANGLES! and seriously the HK scenes were a literal dream. it looked like they were playing with the buildings (rip to those people though).
kudos to that little girl for making me root for the monkey. i mean Kong! listen i haven't watched Skull Island yet but now i might. cause seriously i was only there for my girl. (Godzilla is a girl, we're not discussing this again.) but Kong actually carried the movie and was really interesting.
can we talk about 1:29? YEAH you know what i mean. that's my girlfriend smiling! wow.
it was painful to see them getting hurt, not gonna lie but the team effort was beautiful and Kong finishing the Mechagodzilla with the axe was poetic cinema.
the Hollow Earth was AMAZING.
the ending felt similar to other movies (Godzilla 2014 probably?) but i liked it. and god we still love those opening titles!!
the only problem with this movie is the human counterpart aside from Kong's little girl. i needn't say their names, you know what i mean.
anyway this movie is a masterpiece, the visuals are *chef's kiss*, my Godzilla is the most elegant titan to exist, yes the queen of monsters.
