A vanity project. Really nice, but a vanity project. I didn't know Pharrell before "Happy" so a lot of it was new, and in that situation, this was all narrative soup. I'm sure it was fun to do this but it was all weird, man.

Look, he spent 120 million to make this movie, this combination of Fountainhead, The Power Broker, and Gangs of New York. It's a massive meatball of a movie made with ion and with a range of "I can't believe we're going here, but we're going to do our best" professionalism.
