Ok, now I can see why most people didn’t like Stephen Chbosky’s “Dear Evan Hansen”, because they likely had all seen “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” first, which I hadn’t done. I’ll give Chbosky this: he knows how to hurt my emotions and then hug them…
There was a lot potential for a action comedy like this, but it’s squandered by a poorly written script, easy/safe directing, wasted performances and actors and studio like Netflix not taking more advantage to improve on their quality of their content.

Why does Netflix keep spending so much time and money rom-coms that lack substance, copy classics, or is tackily immersed in the 21st century world of technology and social media??
Luckily, it finally pushed me to letterboxd to say: there was at least 10 cliches in the first 10 minutes and I was upset. Sometimes I'm craving a new romcom to watch and it rarely hits the spot.

basic and predictable Christmas movie. Cute and darren and nina were in it but the only good part about this movie was the cover of “baby it’s cold outside “
this movie will forever be in my heart the main character; charlie is so loveable and relatable and almost all the characters are equally complex and understandable. i do wish they incorporated more things from the book and deleted scenes but nonetheless its amazing and quite possibly my favorite movie but it does make me sob every single time.
I won't lie - the trailer raised my eyebrow because I'm not a fan of the "perpetually single Asian character" being used as the butt of the joke... As I watched the movie, I realized that both of the leads had a very romantic AND platonic development, which surprised me. Don't get me wrong, the trope is still disappointing to me, but I did enjoy the direction the movie went in. Probably wouldn't watch it again, though.
Recently just watched LoveHard because i’m a sucker for cheesy rom-coms. So, to no surprise I did very much like this movie except for 1 thing… the two main characters who end up together, lacked chemistry. Which in my opinion, takes the movie down a few notches when it comes to rating it. Maybe this movie needed different actors.
