NOBODY WARNED ME I’D BE TEARING UP OVER A GIANT LIZARD AND HIS LIZARD SON 😭
the Japanese military really were like “fuck Godzilla’s kid” though.

I was not expecting to be so invested in this. Tony and Eilis are amazing together.
All style and no substance; a gorgeous looking film that ultimately fails to ever make me care about what's happening on the screen.
And so I bid farewell to Margaret Rutherford's Miss Marple as she sails into the sunset (figuratively) and say hello to another Letterboxd Collection. I'm such a completionist.

great acting and direction. wished there were more psychological thriller elements to it.

it's a very...strange movie. the first half is really interesting and sweet and i loved watching the relationship unfold...and then the second half is genuinely chilling and so enigmatic that i didn't really know how to feel. even with the explanation of the folklore, i'm not entirely show how both pieces fit together. maybe i'll have to rewatch or look more into it, but it was a pretty confusing watch

I'm gonna be hanged for saying this, but for me it's a bit overhyped, sorry, For a Few Dollars More is better. The score and cinematography are perfect tho.
Lee Van Cleef's character is terribly underutilized, which is a shame because his character in FAFDM was my favorite in this trilogy. It's also a bit too long, my sister even asked me if I was watching a TV series lol
I can't live like this anymore, I need to…
I was amazed, I was disgusted, I was intrigued but most importantly, I was hella confused

I understand why people love this film, and I definitely liked certain aspects aswell (cinematography, score, atmosphere), but the story just felt kinda meh. maybe it's deniro's character as a whole, but I just couldn't for the life of me find any approach beyond the visual style which was really frustrating.
on a related note: while I was watching this, there was construction going on outside which surely didn't improve the viewing experience, so I suspect I'll have to revisit this in the near to medium future.

Jessica's towel stayed on a bit too well, for my liking, with all that mayhem.
