Uhhhh those reenactments made me so uncomfortable. Not sure that's the direction the director should have chosen...
Also the parents... ugh.

A times, “Real Man” feels a bit exploitative, but as it progress showcase one man’s determination to become the man he always wanted to be. It’s an explicit film, that juxtaposes Rafael’s as a teenager renacting his future positions as a porn star.
i can’t allow my love for amy to change my rating on this doc. asif kapadia, i HATE you!!!!!!!!
what kind of fuckery is this?
taking this to be the new netflix doc?? watched yesterday and already cannot what i had to say on it
The story of one man's obsessive quest to bring a video store collection back home. That our documentarian sees his life through movies, and seems utterly fixated on his goal of retrieving Kim's Videos archive, makes this as much a reflection on a love of cinema as it does this specific story. Even better is how this story takes a number of bizarre twists and turns, involving the mafia and a daring heist finale. Seriously!
i liked the found footage HOWEVER there was nothing revolutionary about this doc or the facts presented
would have liked to hear more testimonies about the victims or those in their proximity
This isn’t without its flaws, and the conflict of interest in regards to one of the directors, but it was pretty cool to see a decent macro look at this kind of forgotten story. Man, I love New York.

Heeeelllll yeee, we stay winning 🤘
the films and documentaries about the pandemic always make me kind of uncomfortable but i think this is the one exception in that case.
i don’t agree with people saying that this has no validity as art because it’s based in GTA. i think grylls’ involvement in the project gave this the edge it needed to stand out.
it’s funny! it’s fun! it’s a documentary on escapism, keeping the artist life alive in an ever-evolving (possibly for the worst) technological…
A lot of great moments and conversations about the trans experience, but I can’t help coming away thinking it’s all disingenuous because of how it was captured and portrayed.
I liked a lot about this, but I can’t tell how much I should trust it
