Was hoping for more because it’s based on Lem, but this was the weakest movie in the DEFA sci-fi boxed set.

I didn’t expect to be actually moved by this film, but I was. I have difficulty putting into words exactly what I think, but IMHO this movie made the right choice to focus on mood, images and fragments rather than attempt to tell a great human scale story when one character is 4 billion years old.
