Matt Singer’s review published on Letterboxd:
Bill Pullman’s voiceover narration should be taught in film school. Yes yes, show don’t tell and all of that. But sometimes telling can assist the showing, or ironically contradict the showing, or serve as a punchline to the showing and vice versa. Or it can just be exquisitely written and performed! Every time Pullman starts narrating in Zero Effect, the whole movie springs to life.
On a related subject, Bill Pullman had magnificent hair in the ’90s. Just glorious. Oh to have a head of hair that lustrous and perfectly tousled.
