Please watch this film when you don’t have to be anywhere after. 

When Setsuko asked, “Why must fireflies die so young?” I knew I was going to cry … and I’ve been sobbing long after the film ended. I don’t the last time a movie did this to me.

All the adults, after the first explosion in the film, failed the two kids, especially the aunt. But the bond between these siblings is one of the most beautiful and pure expressions of love I’ve ever seen on the screen. This film lives in my heart forever now and this is why I watch movies.

The twist in Perfect Blue was fucking brilliant. I kept trying to guess what it was going to be, but they teased me every time. I felt like I was being served on a platter after being dragged for filth… thinking I could outsmart this film. I wish more movies were like that. Every frame and the color palette? Absolutely sensational.

PS: Okay Darren Aronofsky, I bet you many dollars that you loved this film.
