Just read the reviews for this one and wow turns out everybody is fucking stupid? Did you think the songs were written with the intent to listen to them on the way to Starbucks? 

Real talk. The ending is a little slow, but otherwise the pacing is solid and the jokes flow freely. The story itself is really sweet and the dialogue is great, as are the performances. Maybe I’m just starved for a true animated comedy, but I’m not getting the hate.

This movie was good but not great—profoundly okay. Missed the mark. Could have been great, but we got this: a woefully predictable story that dashes any authentic charm it has before the movie even ends. 

This is a found family with the basest amount of “finding” and no familial warmth. It really feels like the film switches its central study twice during its runtime. It positions itself as a found family story with the lead three, yet, that’s not really what happens; the almost adopt those respective roles for each other, but they never quite get there, just barely missing each other. The grief is set up to be soothed, and then you enter the third quarter and start to realize it won’t be. And listen—this is a fine story to tell, satisfying when the subtle sadness of that is actually explored. But that’s not what we get. The ending is focused entirely and solely on Hunham. l questioned myself, “was the story really just about Hunham the whole time?” Uh, idk, no, it really wasn’t. 

That screenplay was at times awful—the actor who played Tully was almost unbearably unconvincing, but I really think it might be owed to the screenplay—“My dad was fine—he was better than fine, he was great.” Really? And I wanted to see more of Mary. 

The set pieces were really beautiful, though, as well as the cinematography. And everybody besides Tully gave a pretty great performance. 

This is only a sad Christmas movie because the characters have sad stories and the movie has a bummer ending. There’s no real tragedy, here—if you want a Christmas drama with an ending that truly melds the sense of having just seen an unspoken tragedy occur to or among its characters, and the sense of hope for what’s to come from the wreckage… idk, watch The Family Man.

Slow, and ultimately, disappointing. But super stylish! That ending was so abrupt but I get it. 

I was hoping it would make my mom hate Elvis… it didn’t… at least, not enough. 

Elordi was more impressive as Elvis than Spaeney was as Priscilla.

This movie is one of my favorites EVER. EVER. I love how it isn’t afraid to just tell a STORY. It knows children will watch it and it isn’t afraid to be scary but it IS a movie appropriate for children. WOW. PEAK.

Good but not as good as wolf of Wall Street or killers of da flower moon. Does anybody else think Ray Liotta looks kinda like Joaquin phoenix. 

I know a lot of people put this as their number one, but it just wasn’t tight enough for me. Imo it lost itself as it went on. Maybe it’s because I’m not really into mob films, maybe I just need to rewatch it.

Awesome movie. Very relatable

It’s aight. The football players are hilarious throughout. Hated that “YES SLAY QUEEN” line god that was so cringe it brought down the movie for me.

Unfortunately, the more I this movie, the more disappointment I feel. It’s undeniably hilarious, and the sets and costuming are absolutely incredible. I am glad it is a story about womanhood and patriarchy, and while I know that Barbie is 100% the emotional core of the film, Ken stealing the show doesn’t sit entirely right with me…? Both Robbie and Gosling are incredible in their roles, though. 

A few things I want to mention—I hated that awful smallpox line. So uncomfortable for so many reasons. The music was awful (repeat: AWFUL) save for Dance the Night, What Was I Made for?, and MAYBE Lizzo’s song, which made such a large impression on me that I don’t the name. America Ferrera’s monologue was embarrassing—even more embarrassing was sitting in a theater with at least three people audibly sobbing as she spoke. It sounded like it came out of a Buzzfeed article. But maybe I’m jaded—the monologue I would bring up as an example of what to do is the Cool Girl monologue from Gone Girl.

Awesome movie. I loved that thrumming score beating throughout the movie like a pulse. Seeing this one again

Update: saw it again, albeit a little while back. Even better the second time. I can truly say I love this movie. I cant put into words what exactly makes this movie so incredible. I think for me, a large part of it is personal. It is so thrilling to get to see this story and the Osage people portrayed with such reverence and respect.
