The fourth of AMC Theatres’ annual (excepting 2021) marathon-style screening of the Best Picture nominees, the weekend of the Oscars. This was the first year the Academy expanded the nominees list to get more popul(ar|ist) films on the docket for the telecast, which had the side effect of turning the Best Picture Showcase into an endurance event.
