Absolutely blown away by this film! I think with a lot of films you can *kind* of trick yourself into thinking you could direct it. Like in a deluded way, but you kind of are like “ah yes a zoom shot, I would have used that as well”

But after this film I was just so in awe of the amount of talent that Denis had to coordinate, just wild, everyone brought their a-game. No clue how you even begin to plan a movie like this.

The score rocked, the world design was so cool and I loved all the costumes. My favourite costumes are definitely the Reverend Mothers and those weird guys in the gladiator arena in the all black with the pincer heads.

I would love a coffee table book of just concept art from the movie. 

The world they created is so huge and epic in scope while also feeling so immersive and personal. I think with how marvel has gone in recent years it’s easy to think of digital effects as having the potential to detract from the story, but obviously in this case Denis has perfectly balanced real world filming and the fx to create this amazing world that felt so real. Never once did I feel taken out of the experience by anything, beautifully done.

Anyway, my girlfriend put her hands over her face like 10 times in the final 5 minutes of the film in Zendaya's honour.

Also the one thing that I do appreciate about Lynch’s Dune is that Feyd-Rautha was literally just jacked Sting, full head of red hair, walking around in a codpiece. So hot, Lynch is a revolutionary still even in his failures.
