Dune: Part Two

2024

The business practices of the industry are obviously not in a good place. But the actual art form of cinema is in a truly unbelievable place. I could barely comprehend the imagery that was washing over me. And that’s such a special feeling. It made me so excited that I get to be alive and watch more movies. I’m in love with the sense of patience in Dune 1 & 2. Such a pleasure to watch, even when I don’t exactly know what’s going on (ooohhh that sandwalking scene between Timmy and Zendaya. So beautiful). And by golly, in a picture full of performances that will put you in a trance, Lea Seydoux found a straight shot directly to my soul (come… to.. meeeee). Holy fuck this was awesome. A collision of blockbuster cinema where the art clearly came first. And just like Oppenheimer and Barbie, I assume the box office cup will runneth over. Especially if the audiences reaction tonight is any indication. It was so cool to see so many people staring in awe at the screen, locked in at the edge of their seat. For me, I know I absolutely wanna watch this again. And it must be in imax. Godzilla Minus One is still the best experience I’ve had from an audio standpoint. But visually, this is the best use of the imax format I’ve seen by many many miles. Cinéma

“THAT’S NOT HOPE!”
