Winner displaying all the talent you’d  expect for staging musical numbers! 
Actually kind of starts off quite endearing. Incredibly cheap looking, music hall comedians gurning through atrocious one liners, Lionel Blair as a Japanese man. Laughably fun for a while. Inevitably it becomes a bit tiresome. 
Hard to believe he made West 11 the same year.

Surprisingly accomplished for an early picture by Michael Winner.

30 year fan but tonight this has really hit me like it hasn’t before. Beautiful movie. So immersive and occasionally overwhelming.
I say this at least twice a year but we really don’t appreciate Boorman as much as we should. The man’s a lunatic.

Real brimstone, fury and dread almost slightly let down by the flat procedural that surrounds it but when it’s good it’s GREAT. Not a lot to say but it does have four excellent performances from Monroe, Underwood, Witt and, of course, Cage - who is completely mesmerising whenever he’s on screen.
First two minutes one of the best openings in recent memory. Again, Perkins a master of style and atmosphere. Think he’s got a great film in him somewhere.
