Everything Everywhere All at Once shrugs off the bounds imposed by containing a story to one universe, and while it's at it, barely falls short of inventing a new visual component of the filmmaking repertoire; yet even with all the multiversal exuberance on display, the film never strays from the familial relationships that underlie the fantastical conflict. So charged are they with an absurd range of sentiment that they effortlessly carry our investment into every universe we discover.
