I found this film ... genuinely moving ... it was kooky, spooky, transcendent, absurd and pulpy all at once! The whacky casting makes for performances that consistently defy expectations, it merges trashy historical literature, new york experimental cinema and surrealist mystery to great avail - untenable yet works so well I say!!
