]]>i've never felt more uncomfortable watching a film in my life. don't think I can see the colour red the same way for a little while.

]]>i kevin smith ugly cried to this. despair is a beautiful thing.
]]>despite how janky it gets this is probably the most haunting outsider art in horror. the dialog feels jumpy and the characters change the subject of what they’re talking about at the drop of the dime but imo it kind of adds to the film. the shot compositions are insane, some real argento influence with the hall of mirrors scene. we need more directors to crash out on meth. rip getty.
]]>WAKE YO ASS UP AND GET IT‼️‼️‼️
]]>that saxaphone is healing to the soul
]]>american liberalism to imprealist war criminal pipeline in action baybee. never pulls any punches. alex cox releasing something this left wing and getting blacklisted afterwords show how commited he really is to this shit.
]]>cant believe ryan has the range to make pretty good sports movies to the best horror film in atleast a decade and a half

]]>this made a lot of autistic people (me) really happy
]]>the only acceptable way to watch this is to watch the weird leaked version with the fucked up cgi when you get shitfaced with friends on the internet. if you watch this in theatres then its a moral failing on your end

]]>for such a depressing movie it feels so dreamy, like you're constantly in a haze for the whole film.
]]>This review may contain spoilers.
im kinda conflicted when it comes to my thoughts on this film. it's visually stunning, and a lot of scenes made me tear up here and there. at the same time though travis feels like a manchild's self insert. a man who's obsession turned into abuse and pain but "deep down he's just a misguided soul". it should feel like a paul schrader-esque gut punch but his character is shown so much in a positive light that it feels like the audience is just suppose to forgive him. it just feels disengenious.
idk, maybe i'll re-watch it a couple of months down the road and it'll "click" but i don't share the same overly-positive feelings that other people feel about this. still worth the watch regadless.
]]>its a god damn shame this isn't up there with scarface as de palma's more popular work holy shit
]]>idk what else there is to say that hasn’t been already said a million times already. blew my mind when I was 14 and seeing this now at the ripe age of 25 ive had pretty much every scene etched into my brain.
i will say though that im glad evangelion in general has picked up in popularity over the last 6 years. i still when i was a kid people were still fighting on imageboards and youtube comments about the merit of end of eva and for a more mainstream audience to finally see the true beauty in anno’s work is cool to see. my only hope is that it got more people that don’t really care for anime outside of shonen stuff and ghibli movies to dive deeper in the medium.
]]>real #geeker shit
]]>finally, gay cowboys
]]>this made a lot of autistic people really happy
]]>fulci's magnum opus. he has a way of making some of the most haunting yet beautiful shots in Italian horror. it's like a moving renaissance painting.
]]>cant believe that the most honest brony documentary came from the fuckin super size me guy (even though hes only the producer #lol).
it’s hard to make a brony documentary even during its peak popularity. it either ends up as a fan circlejerk, a bunch of people claiming that “they’re NOT gay for liking this show and it’s MASCULINE to watch it (pretty much enforcing gender essentialism), or just people mocking autistic people; so its a bit refreshing to see something that has a more objective view. the only problem is that there’s not really much you can do. at the end of the day it’s pretty much like every big fandom like star wars fans or trekkies, except its with ponies.
its a cool time capsule as a view into one of the last real internet sub-cultures but its really nothing more than that.
]]>they snuck my magical girl anime into my ponies what the FUCK
]]>probably the most beautiful film ive seen from paul but sorry you cant trick me to think that mishima is interesting outside of his writing and the one cool thing he did (killing himself). i can understand paul trying to look into the insecurity of masculinity but idk man. this is my peter griffin godfather moment and idc
]]>I like robert de niro’s dedication to being a vietnam veteran pervert that gets radicalized into doing political hijinks in not just one, but TWO films.
I think de palma is slowly becoming one of my favourite directors. Hard to find another mainstream western director with such a creative range as he has
]]>haven’t seen anything so transgressive yet so beautiful in a while. its the only good movie to include /r9k/ in probably the craziest chekov’s gun in recent memory
]]>never thought i would see cedric the entertainer be this good at playing a piece of shit megachurch pastor but GOD he’s good in this
]]>its like a 2d airplane but for perverts. perfect post valentines day film.
]]>they’re calling it the most rewatchable movie of all timeTM
]]>came for Sean P McCarthy's Role Of A LifetimeTM, stayed for what was a well-put-together short film.
]]>you basically watch this in the background while you riff with your drunk friends but fuck its beautiful to watch in the background
]]>haven't teared up watching a film like this in a while
]]>i can see why this is the best holiday film. you don’t realize the contributions every person on this earth has to eachother till they’re gone. dont take life for granted fellas
]]>Would have been a lot better if he didnt keep using the same metal song for (almost) every kill but the shots argento pulls are nuts, especially the gun scene.
]]>its def a slow burn and the first third of the movie can feel like it drags on, but the imagery is INSANE, shit rly fires on all cylinders in the latter half as well.
]]>the christmas spirit is real FUCK tully’s mom
]]>World's First Penis Jumpscare
]]>too ambitious for it's own good. great premise and in the early half there's some great tension but the latter half of the film just flops over on itself.
]]>the last great american thriller.
]]>i still liked it but you can only show so much gore before it just starts getting a bit boring. theres still some great scenes like the strip club and the last 20 minutes but theres times where it REALLY starts to drag (the scene where the police kills the citizens as an example). still worth a watch though
]]>my friend kept screaming everytime linnea quiggly’s boobs popped out
