Only for REAL bedwetters.

Heater. Went in blind and I recommend you do the same. Miles better than 2022's Talk To Me. Inevitably doomed by 20ish sparse minutes of A24 horror slog but I got into it. Stellar thick and through. Go see with your friends. I love a good allegory not dumbed down and executed easily for viewer sake...

Guys who made this have been around on the internet as long as I can and I can safely say they aren't going anywhere but up from here. Smooth and beautiful. Not really what the trailers give off at all.

These guys traumatized me as a kid with an uncensored version of "Five Nights at Sesame Street", an appalling parody of the given titles where Big Bird impregnates a woman and there's lots of horrible gore, and safe to say they were yet again able to give me some real jumps. I have a huge tension headache. All the best.

"You're still corny Ethan."

Great. Incredible action movie. A simple formula but they laid the blueprint so they get to do that. Much more tension here. I can tell Rogue Nation & Fallout are about to hit like crack. I much more prefer Ethans personality here. Much more toned down on the dude-ness from the past two films which is for the better. When these take themselves this seriously with brief physical comedic relief they're much more enjoyable. Simon Pegg gets to breathe here and I dig it.

The clean-up they did to explain the wife situation at the end felt a little forced but what can you do yknow? I'm a sucker for Abrams direction style but he doesn't know a serious consistent plot when it's sitting in front of his face. Brad Bird fucking killed this. No idea the guy who did Ratatouille had this kinda style in him.

"You either surf it...
Or...
You get wiped out."

Orange-yellow Australian nightmare about breaking the cycle, carrying on, finding & losing your humanity, and just how not black and white it all is. Everything is impossibly unpredictable but that's stuff of life's weird little beauty. The most unique expression I've seen of a very complex allegory that is often over-simplified for consumption sake. If you like movies, you'll like this, and maybe, just maybe love it. Best seen on the big screen with 100% of your attention to detail. Nothing here is to be overlooked. Incredible film with a stunning closing tune as well. I really needed this. And the best title card(s) of the year award goes to...

Like dude. Oh yeah man. Oh yeah. Oh. Yeah. Oh yeah. Dude. Yeah. Haven't been this happy and excited after a movie in ages. This wasn't IMMEDIATELY gonna be a 5 star movie then the last 15 minutes unfolded before my eyes and I wept like a cat locked out in the rain. The most creative real-movie movie I've seen of late. Lots of inspiration, and I think that can often weigh down a Cage flick being a classic, but not here at all, it sticks to its own. The most bewildering thing he's done since Pig. The stuff of nightmares and dreams.

Real Cage-heads will adore this, and this won't be everyone's thing as much as it was mine, but there is definitely something for everybody, and for the first time in a while, I highly recommend this to you all. My favorite score of 2025. I'm a sucker for everything here, especially the cinematography, it's like Natural Born Killers meets National Geographic meets every well-shot 80's action film -- maybe Star Wars? It's so much fun to see. Several shots are straight paintings that I want framed in my room. Ending shots had me in awe. They knew they were making something good here.

Everything breathes and nothing happens for no reason. It all goes somewhere, you just have to endure it alongside him. God I mean, just fresh air really, a film that takes its time and 100% stays true to itself -- a vision fulfilled perfectly. I can't the last time I saw a new film I loved where I knew most others would not care for at all, on the big screen. This is my type of stuff.. I love the movies that I love, and I love movies. Fuck. Gem alarm.

"That's a good one."

"That was nothing. It was uhh -- fun. It was fun."

Things this movie has that Mission Impossible 2 does not:

• Jesse "Yeah" Pinkman cameo
• Matrix Fishburne being a chud
• My GOAT Philip Seymour Hoffman
• Good writing
• Tom Cruise argues in Italian
• Funny gifs
• It's a good movie
• Kanye original for end credits
• Simon Pegg

Anyway... Review:

Very few movies have raised my standards and this is one of them. Holy entertainment man. This ruled. You get to see Hoffman do Mission Impossible shit and that immediately makes it great. The helicopter chase with the windmills makes it clear in memory why I loved Abrams as a kid. Everyone is giving it their all here and the action is really the best I've seen, you're telling me this is gonna be topped? I'm all in. The only acceptable "this isn't you" because it's fearful, genuine, and not a climax of any sort. The jump of quality between this and the last one is night and day.

Hoffman is playing a god-complex type villain in this with the same name as me and I'm eating it up like nothing else has ever been eaten. This didnt click with me on first sitting but after an IPA and some pretzel m&m's it hit like water in a desert. There are so many A+ quotes here but I chose that one because Hoffmans delivery of being that guy is just fuuuuuucking goooooooood.

So insanely creative and honestly beautiful. There really is an art to making an action movie this good and I wasn't just quite fully aware of that. Typa shit that makes you reevaluate the ratings you've given others. Runtime flew by unbelievably fast. Mission Impossible 3: The sequel where the slo-mo matters. I'm so fucking glad this worked for me because I got five more coming right up, and I'm ready.

Oh yeah, real good. This film should be showed to most younger impressionable men especially in this day and age but new movies with this kind of depth and thought requirement feel as if they're becoming a thing of the past. Typa stuff that reminds you why you fell in love with movies in the first place. I'm really happy with that ending scene. This didn't leave me as depressed as I thought it was going to.

For fans of films like A Different Man and especially for those who've struggled with sex / pornography addiction. Fassbender is great here but the real star of the show is his boss being the most hate-worthy character ever.

"Do you see me now?"

Pretentiousness warning!

Getting this out of the way & going full chud here: Most of your favorites are bad people (I mean hell Brad Pitt makes this guy look like a saint), and I do not Majors personally. I think he's an ass. I don't watch films for the people in it or the morals of its existence typically. I watch them to connect to an art personally. My connection with what it is to me is important first and foremost. I don't care to know these people at all, I care to know their collective product. Controversial art is important, not inherently in itself is it "important" because it's controversial, but it should be important to you sometimes -- when however, is up to you. Censorship is a slippery slope and I wouldn't argue for it. Art should be conflicting here and there, as this was for me; a very hard watch. But, I'm here for an output. Of course there's a line there but this doesn't cross it. It's an absolute shame Majors pissed his career away being a piece of shit. He's such a talent, but that behavior is atrocious.

One of the most emotionally challenging films I've ever watched. Truly stunning from all angles. It's pretty much a less on-the-nose Joker with some Uncut Gems, and according to others, lots of Taxi Driver. My eyes were glued to the screen the entire time. You couldn't paid me to have not given my full attention to this. Gorgeous and surprisingly very in-depth for what it is. Nothing new or groundbreaking, but it very interestingly merges together concepts from the films I mentioned prior. It does it in a modern way, and blossoms into a beautiful, reinvented, delusional, colorful, and agonizing nightmare. Especially a nightmare to watch. Full dread for most of the film. That restaurant dialogue is one for my books.

If he was smart, he would've walked away after this, because it's an absolutely astonishing film. If you take me watching this or saying these things as me defending him in his endeavors of abuse, or some statement as to how abuse should be tolerated, you're stupid. It's not my place to speak on any of that in that way. I'm a viewer. These are just personal opinions towards this specific piece of art, and maybe some others.

The ending 20-ish minutes or so don't necessarily drag it down, because it stays true to the film, but it may feel a bit jumbled to those who were as entranced as I was by the path Killian seemed to be headed towards during the third quarter of the film. Nonetheless I still immediately loved this. If you're conflicted on watching this due to controversy -- please let yourself be challenged. This is a real movie and a good one.

Some good, some bad. Undeniably really neat. I've only seen one other Jim Jarmusch movie but I feel like I could guess who was directing this after 30 seconds if I didn't know beforehand.

The White Stripes segment was funny. "Cousins?" was great. The one where Cate Blanchett plays two different cousins that's also called "Cousins", but without a question mark, was good. Enjoyed the opening as well. GZA, RZA, and Bill Murray are in the same cast intro card.

If you watch this just don't think of it as a regular Jarmusch flick. It's 11 weird little short films.

"This shy girl called Karen lived across the street from the Sidewalk Cafe. She'd come down to play these quiet acoustic guitar songs."

This documentary opens quickly with the face of Julian Casablancas, Karen O, James Murphy, and then gives you a vividly beautiful montage of early 2000's New York and the music rising in it, then goes into Kimya Dawson & Adam Green recording as The Moldy Peaches. It's home-video footage recorded in their apartment studio. They ask others in the hall, "do you want to be in a documentary?". That was 23 years before this came out. They had no idea the impact on music they'd have. No one did. It's unreal. I mean they just didn't know.

A bunch of stupid kids running around in their circus act -- somehow making it, over and over. As KO put it, finding your scene and reinventing yourself for it, they really did do that. It just worked. There will be no other era like it. A generational blueprint that forever changed alternative. The musical impact is one thing but this art was my life growing up. A huge part of my relationships with everyone I know and my relationship with art as a whole often closely revolves around what blossomed from this scene.

The James Murphy stuff is the most interesting. I learned a lot here I thought I already knew too much about. This is an incredibly well made documentary. The most interesting and bewildering period of music. Labels were killing it too hard in the 90's with casual folk charting anything pushed onto them towards #1, producing uncountable one-hit-wonders. So real losers had to show them how it was done. Literally every song off Is This It is a massive hit. Off that topic but... Karen O's raspy screech my beloved...

This is my real definitive punk era. What everyone gushes about in relation to punk, not just lame counter-culture, actually excels right here. Traditional old punk has been dead for fucking ever and it's time to accept the heart and soul of rebellion and "fuck it" was right here. I mean hell, the turning point was literally 9/11. The soul of music, as a whole, moved to New York in the Mercury Lounge right before 9/11.

My shower has heard me perform every song in this likely thousands of times.

"You could fail, and, it didn't matter."
What a time.

"I WAS ON METH!"

The most special. Just the best. Everything I've needed and wanted from the MCU for 6 years. All of my coping for this franchise and defending of this movie actually paid off. This really has the best. Can confirm -- we're back, and it's as great as reception said it was. Not a single shot was bad. Not a single line was corny. Not a single thing made it feel like... well... an MCU movie.

Unbelievably funny, super badass, every line delivery is great, this is, to me, the best MCU Movie. I feel seen. I'm impacted. I laughed, cried, feared, and loved. GET READY TO READ MOTHERFUCKER BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE A KID AGAIN!

Choreography was flawless. To my nitpicky educated movie viewers: yes you can tell when it's CGI assisted, but it's tasteful, as it should be, and it's clearly necessary for the scene. It's not your usual Marvel production cheap-out. There's actually none of that here. More on that later. You'd need a NASA microscope to see the switches between the stunt doubles. The fights and movements are airtight, dare I say again, flawless. There is legitimate jaw dropping shit. John Wick level badassery at work here.
The group dynamic was charming and funny, and despite having a big dumb-sensitive type male, it doesn't (like other Marvel movies!) copy Guardians whatsoever, and everyone equally stands out. The characters for this were selected very well, no one needed outrageous boring backstory that already wasn't pre-implied by something about them or where they were. Just a group of B characters doing dirty work. This is a great standalone for anybody and an equally good payoff for those who were always fond of these disposables of characters. Cinematography was on another level. Best in the franchise. Of course Andrew was gonna cook like that. From opening to closing there isn't a single bad shot. Everything is given room to breathe, you can take it all in one step at a time. Color grading rocked. Nothing was out of place. Only covering this at all because it has unbelievable sauce for the MCU. It's the best.

The Void might actually be the best one-off villain they've had. So beautifully introspective and thoughtful. Every line Pullman says in the "safe" room hit me in the gut. I cried twice. This did not pussy out with having a meaning and sticking to it. That line where he's like, "You get used to it, you don't die, the pain just gets worse." Jesus christ. The Voids introduction dude. Aura was off the charts. I had chills. Practical work here pays off because everything is just so smooth. This whole movie flowed so well and I had no pacing issues at all. I actually have no issues and every minute that goes by, it ages even better. Gnarly post-credits scene to top it all off. Best soundtrack out of the MCU's films as well. Son Lux you crazy sons of a bitch.

Emotionally consistent and incredibly mature. There's some real gut-punches here and tear jerkers. I felt the most seen I ever have by an MCU movie -- I guess by any movie in general. I'm kinda like Bob if you think about it.

I feel like a kid again. :)

I have very big opinions on military and grew up with military family so sorry for the pretentiousness here. Hug your loved ones who have served, and -- war is a disease.

I see a lot of people complaining that this isn't "movie" enough and doesn't have arcs or twists or whatever, and all I have to say is like, fuck you? This film serves as an observation and visual recreation of something that happened in real life, basing itself as truly as possibly off of memories from those who experienced it. This is not fiction. It is uncomfortable. It is a part of our history as Americans we cannot ignore. It's not supposed to make you feel good. It's horrible. You should have gotten that from the very first trailer, at least I did. And if you have not learned to separate your hatred towards soldiers vs. government, then here is another: fuck you. Educate yourself and meet veterans, please.

This film was important to me, much more than I thought it would be. I have many family (dead and alive) and close people in my life who served during this period, Vietnam, and in WW2. They refuse (or rather refused before ing away) to talk about it. I always respected that and never asked for details but this gives me a really harrowing insight towards the unspoken shame many who served feel to a much more real extent.

Yes I see some irony in that ending but not to the point where I'm going to disregard the entire film as shit-stain propaganda. How those soldiers chose to handle that is up to them. Best opening scene of '25.

"I've been dying a little bit each day since you came back into my life."

"What are you talking about?"

"I love you."

Don't let the rating fool you... I rocked with this. There's just a bit of really bad and a lot of really good and a fair share of mid. This is so close to being 4/5 stars but there's just that signature Lucas boredom that settles in before the third act. However it's a huge improvement. The good stuff really is really good. About 3/4th of the way through there's 30 minutes of sparsely spread out messiness but the rest I really liked. Story flowed way better, dialogue was an upgrade with the exception of a few corny cliches, and the feel was consistent. It does a way better job at exploring the crevices of the universe and per usual George Lucas is a psychopath with stupidly good establishing shots. There's some Fifth Element type shit here -- I dig it. I might bump this to 4? We'll see.

Most of what happens actually feels important to the story and film, and I really enjoyed watching Anakin begin his deterioration, I think it does that better than anything else. Count Dooku is objectively a hilarious name but his character's awesome. The corruption, mystery, and clones are all really enjoyable to watch unfold into a huge mess.

Just like the first one, this is maybe 30 minutes too long but at least there's some badass stuff to look at. I really hate how it nearly ends in that terribly lit arena fight but oh well, that's cost of Lucas directing. Quickly salvaged by Yoda being an unexpected badass. Even loads of unnecessary CGI (Like even the fruit? Really?) can't weigh down this pretty solid Star Wars flick. We're getting somewhere here. The sound design and ship designs are fucking peak.

"Nah we got diplomatic solutions and aggressive negotiations"

"No it's fucking Daft Punk"

Good time, fine party trick, but you can tell most of that 18 million was spent on advertising. You expect me to believe that a guy can keep his eyes open after being doused in bear mace? Cute and fun but definitely an accidental dad movie. Would've done numbers on Redbox in 2013. They milk the concept for what it's worth though!

If this had more time in the oven it'd probably be a fun banger but for now it's just fun, which isn't bad! Some cool shots but nothing is really given time to breathe because it refuses to take itself seriously beyond romance. Cool characters save it from being completely forgettable. Cute ending too, yay!

Edit: Bumped to 2 stars

"I figured we could do some other fun things that don't make us wanna kill ourselves"

"It was really Jewish. Full on Jew."

I was not aware that this was like the funniest greatest movie ever. What the fuck did I just watch?
If you're wondering why I gave this 5 stars it's because this has the best third act of like anything ever. I was locked the fuck in. Maybe it's because Anna Kendrick is like the most beautiful person to walk this earth but regardless this kinda fucked.

Had no idea what to expect here, I thought it was some bullshit but I laughed at some really dumb jokes over and over and kinda really fucked with the soundtrack. Stupid good 2012 needle-drops like over and over, not just acapella stuff. I should do a double feature of this and Spring Breakers someday.

We used to be a simpler people. This could not be made now bro. Lighting in a BOTTLE. Also, Yeah Yeah Yeah's Mentioned. I kinda hate Jesse but I get it. I think it's hilarious this movies main weird-girl character trait is that she loves remixing. I laughed out loud at many tediously stupid details in this movie.

They clearly knew how stupid this was gonna be while making it and they made something really fun and stupid and great. No complaints from me. Will be rewatching in the near future, sorry.

"They all broke-ed!"

Yeah. Really bad. Really bad as a movie and even worse as a Star Wars movie. The attempt to recreate the magic of the 3rd act from New Hope & Return Of The Jedi was laughable. This is new levels of nostalgia slop never before thought possible for its time. Hope they really actually do pick up from here.

Lucas is a psychopath for how misused the actual great shots and art here are. Also, some really just bad and noticeably inconsistent set quality, for the 15% of this that was actually done practically. Now a reminder -- I don't use the word slop loosely. It's straight up a garbage attempt to recreate those endings. You cannot possibly argue otherwise.

Plenty of very racist moments and artificial aura. Some stuff to love here, but it's just bad. Impossible to watch without captions. Pacing is terrible. Fight scenes are dull as fuck and have no sauce. A poor attempt at a fan service that also appeals to the youth of its time terribly. I hating this as a kid too.

The entire pod racing segment had one shot that wasn't ugly as shit. What a fucking drag. Holy shit. What? Like 10 minutes of futuristic NASCAR sound effects with no music and the most dull everything possible. It's like this movie is just one boring segment after another that rewards you for pushing through with maybe a cracked smile because of a cool shot.

"She's like a disney princess on estrogen"

There's a post credit scene where Charlie Day dances and sings in the rain.

Greatly misinterpreted. It's kind of just a 2 hour long filler episode of Louie where things randomly completely go off the rails in some odd situation but it's great for it. Fascinating weird flick about power dynamics, hypocrisy, maturity, and or better yet lack of; fatherhood. I like pretentious movies sometimes, my bad.

John Malkovich plays the hell out of a manipulative pedophile here. This cast is weirdly really good? Feels handpicked. Charlie Day is hilarious. Lots of really great dialogue exchanges that got good laughs from me. Every Edie Falco line delivery is golden. This movie has the best delivery of "Hi" ever. Really bittersweet. Not for everyone. Some things don't read as jokes here so I can't blame peoples discomfort at some bits. "What a thing to love a girl and be rejected by the woman she becomes" is a gross and crazy line when you hear the context it comes from.

If Louis CK can survive this being on his catalogue of films made before 2018, then you can survive anything.

"Methinks our friend's a tad bit fuckered in the head..."

Watching this while in Vallejo, not even a 5 minute drive away from a lot of these locations, was terrifyingly interesting. This felt so real to me as the film played out, not just the events pictured -- it felt like I was watching this in real time. I was so immersed. I mean hell the opening scene is literally visible from my porch. If you could believe it, the Zodiac killer is not talked about much here or taught about really at all. This was like unlocking a chapter to my hometown I never cared enough to know even existed. This was a very personal watch. Also, holy shit.

Just pure perfect. The most captivating, hilarious, and terrifying movie ever. I'm obviously insanely biased because two hours of this movie are Robert Downey Jr., Jake Gyllenhaal, and Mark Ruffalo talking about the town I live in and all the ones I frequent, but like, I could not stop geeking out.

I've never been more locked in. Could not take my eyes off the screen. Basement scene overwhelmed me so much. I could write like ten essays each about every single line delivery here. This objectively has to be one of the best movies ever made, right?

Everyone at the top of their game ESPECIALLY Fincher. Perfect storytelling. Also, for those who are curious, this is geographically almost perfectly accurate.

Guy was moving like King Von in places I used to take 5th grade field trips to.

"You know, I guess one person can make a difference."

"You and truth, sitting in prison, having three meals a day together. I live in presence of great truth... and that is the truth that you left behind.. right there in that bedroom."

First time watch.... Best of everything. Jaw-dropping and just raw as hell. My favorite Spider-Man movie. The BEST Spider-Man movie. Watched this with a birch beer, pepperoni pizza, and Sno-Caps, and had the best night of my life.

Put a childlike smile on me for 2 hours. Some stuff here is just, wow. I'll be thinking about that restaurant scene forever. How did I not know there was a Spider-Man movie where he fights Eddie Brock as Venom? Also holy sauce the MJ & Harry stuff is just soooo great. Them cooking together?! CGI is perfectly dated and the edgy Peter stuff is balanced really well with being funny (since after all his already nerdy and weird-guy traits are amplified) with also being at times terrifying. That scene with MJ in the restaurant actually caught me super off guard and made me gasp.

They focus on his crumbling relationship with love, forgiveness, and self awareness to make you feel the fear you're supposed to from his ego + symbiote issues making him lose his inner good, rather than just him doing bullshit which I mean, wow, what a breath of fresh air. It was all done so tastefully.

I need this shit injected into my fucking veins man. There is so much happening and it all unfolds together beautifully in a badass display that feels ripped from the pages of your favorite comic book. I understand the Raimi goat discussions now... They should've given this guy Secret Wars.

"Well, I can tell you some stories."

Fable-like Hollywood nightmare constantly shoveling you the pure disease of stress. A tale of hell, nothin' short of it. Filled to the brim with excellent character writing and each line delivered is more memorable than the last. I've never seen Goodman play someone (I suppose fraudulently) so impressively charismatic and grounded, and I'd also like to mention Buscemi as Chet is perfect. He's just got the face for a guy like that. Every angle of this movie feels far from uncertain -- there is true care here in every fine detail and shot. Arguably comparable to Lynch's vision of Hollywood delusion, but I love how focused this was more on the realistic side of writer anxiety metaphorically and some literally; like the antisemitism and or the typewriter transitions... The true insides of good old disaster Hollywood.

Likely has more typewriter shots than any other movie. Balancing frustration and beauty in film perfectly. Yeah, this was great. John Turturro is fucking great. I'm so glad he still gets mainstream work. Movies are magic and beautiful and there are beautiful movies for those with eyes to see. God I love movies. The walls are crumbling, everything is falling apart just as much as it's coming together, it's all a sell, a delusion, a con, and you'll find yourself in hell before you can even realize why you're unhappy.

To create is to fulfill, to never fulfill is to suffer.

"Will you come testify in the court of myopic opinion, or will you settle for oblivion?"

Little bit of education here...

Slipknot Eras

1999-2000 -- First record & initial rise to fame

2001-2002 -- They refuse to sell out, Iowa era, their best, utter filth and pure anger

2003-2008 -- Vol 3 era.. Coreys vocals are shot, band sounds like shit, sold out as hard as they could, fall off was immeasurable

2009-2013 -- Bands good again live but drummer is nearly disabled, bassist dies, clown's a drunk, they sold out to the metalcore appeal at the time, very heavy stuff tho

2014-2017 -- .5 Era. New insanely fast and young drummer, bassist is publicly replaced, Coreys vocals are shot to shit, bands held together by threads, a certified arena band at this point

2019-2021 -- Huge comeback. Return to form, Chris sues the band and is kicked out, replaced by Michael Pfaff, band drops what some consider their best album. Corey is working hard on sounding good. The beginning of a new

2022-2023 -- I call this their "machine" era. Set had now been nearly the same for a decade plus new singles. Band seemed super bored. They were finishing up a contract with RR and dropped a very rushed album. They sounded ok live. Jay started speeding up songs and fucking up every minute. Corey quits smoking / drinking and locks in

Late 2023-Now -- The "Locked In" era. They fire Jay, Craig quits, band gets fresh blood that's better than the last. Original commit to sobriety. They tour self titled in full. No longer attached to big name labels. New live mix is unbelievably heavy and raw. Best they've sounded since '02. Clearly at their prime somehow 25 years into their career

This DVD was shot in 2015 -- The .5 Era.

Slipknot has two notable live DVD's... Disasterpieces and Day Of The Gusano. Both take place right before very long and torturous tour that would do unimaginable harm to each mental health and physical capability. This show and its brute-forced energy to deliver is a great reminder why anyone in this business should stay sober.

At this point in time the only two unoriginal are Vman and Jay. Vman's replacing a dead man and Jay is replacing someone who was incapable of continuing physically. RIP Joey & Paul. This more than anything highlights how capable this band is of change without spiraling or losing relevance. This was before Jay was outed as being a huge douche and before he sped up too fast for his own good every 30 seconds. He is crushing it here to a monumental level. I encourage any drummer to watch this for some inspiration and drive. He's unreal. Eloy replacing Jay was THE RIGHT move but I can appreciate his excellence here.

Corey sounds like shit, everyone's booze-addled and out of shape, and they're giving it 150%. I always look past how awful Coreys strain is here because holy shit he is giving everything he has. His singing is excellent. And like, we will never get something as cool as opening with Sarcastrophe ever again. Metabolic is on this setlist too. Just unreal. The sub-drops in Surfacing deserve to be brought back.

"Ben...  Why didn't you tell me?

De-specialized version again.

This was fantastic. Now I'll probably get shit for having this at 4.5 while the first is at 5 but this movie has ONE problem for me -- you can tell how excited they are to expand on it as a franchise. The personalities are all amped up to 10 and it really takes away a lot of the isolated charm the first one had. However it's still great to me, just a very different movie.

Noticeably impressive cinematography for its time. All the miniatures, stop-motion, and sets look great. The painting backgrounds are just nuts. That excitement I spoke of earlier did help one thing... the ion behind all of it. There's kind of an orange lighting they use in some scenes here with Vader and his ships that just look awesome.

The personality changes I'd say work best on Luke and Vader, and work worst on C-3PO and Solo. I love Han Solo but he's kind of just a cunt here, I get that's his thing now but he's a very strategic interesting cunt in the first with motives further than wanting to fuck a princess that add a lot of depth to his character. They made C-3PO too much of a diva and sometimes it's kinda whatever. Vaders aura here is off the charts though and kinda makes up for anything I disliked.

Obviously Boba Fett is fucking awesome, pretty much every character introduced here is great. I forgot how cunty Yoda was. What a little asshole. Definitely one of the greatest sequels. I love how it only needs a few hype moments & aura to get away with it being one of the coolest movies ever. I'm maybe glad that Lucas gave this to someone else.

"No one will ever love you like I do."

Nothing short of a masterpiece. Endless jaw drops.
Couldn't believe what I was looking at half the time.
This has a 3.0? Trap all over again. The shit of nightmares, just constant salt in the wound.

The David and Walter dynamic & dialogue was pretty excellent. This is the second Alien movie I've ever seen (Yeah.. I know) and it absolutely overthrows the first one I saw -- Romulus. Wonderful stuff. Movie magic at its best here.

Only complaint? NOT ENOUGH GUY PEARCE.

"And if there are a million different realities, I have slept with your wife in every single one of them."

Still 10/10. The more you nitpick at this and focus the better it is.
