I have turned supremely celestial sleepytime bear and it hasn't even hit winter yet...has taken me 3 attempts to watch this without falling asleep but I managed the feat last night. not a reflection on the film itself, this was a very good time indeed. I'm just old!

this wasn't my favourite of Andrea Arnolds work, I felt like it was kind of messy and lacked her certain pizzazz and gripping/suffocating (in a good way) narrative structure...but I did feel this. From my own experience of fending for self and sibling from the tender age of 11, finding warmth and comfort in transient strangers to fill the gap of distant or disappeared parents, derelict streets explored aimlessly from day into night on bikes, the alienating and broken structure…
