Looks great! Puppets and matte paintings, who knew?!

Wish the story was as well-crafted as the production design, but Willem Dafoe sings in Ukrainian at one point and that's not nothing.

Can't say I bought into the central relationship as much as I wanted to - John Leguizamo and, especially, Barbie Ferreira are wonderful in this, but the relationship progression felt too rushed, and the denouement too abrupt. But, given that this is based at least partially on a true story, that might be fitting. Real life rarely unfolds in the way a movie does. Instead, we're left with isolated moments of transcendence, and have to do our best to find the meaning in them.

You know how this film's poster looks like it was made on Photoshop by a drunk five-year-old?

Yeah, the whole movie's like that.

Like the series, it is sweet and charming as f----
