"Carpe diem, seize the day, boys, make your lives extraordinary," and "No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world." - John Keating

Watched back in the day on release at the pictures with my then girlfriend, this is a gutrenching yet beautiful film. I was in tears on conclusion at the Cinema and I was in tears again, this time in my house. This it seems is the type of melodrama I love, and it…

Turner: Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

This film is some whacked out sh*t to say the least, however it's very entertaining, creepy and thought provoking, and I loved it. Part Crime film part psychedelic journey Performance certainly takes you on a far out trip.
The film explores how characters' identities are shaped by their environments and the roles they play.
James Foxes character Chas is the prime example of this as his character changes from a hard nut gangster…

There is also plenty intrigue in the plot as our…

My Lists

What really grabbed me most, on this viewing, more than on any other occasion, was the human element. Whether it is the slow burn relationship development between Ripley and Hicks, the hand clapsing between Gorman (William Hope) and Pvt Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein) before the grenade explosion, the maternal bonding between Ripley and Newt or Ripley's understandable suspicions…

A Stunning Piece of Film Making

My Blu Ray Collection

A brilliantly written script, and equally well cast and directed. A film the aging male can certainly relate to, on so many levels. In my top 5 Westerns of all time, you bet.
Is it the best?? I will have to mull that over and add an extra paragraph.
This film looks at a number of different subjects. Morality is probably the head of the list but also highlights…
