Chinatown

★★★★★ Watched

It’s a peak private eye noir story. It’s paced very well and provides an overall picture that is engaging and enjoyable to the base and the sophisticated parts of the brain. Jack Nicholson’s performance here was incredible, truly a genre-defining role in a genre with no shortage of fellas that fit the bill. The ending is certainly one of the gutsiest things I think I’ve ever seen done in a movie- I’ll never forget it.

★★★★★ Rewatched

Together again! As always, The Muppets remind us all about the magic in every facet of life. Even something as ill-conceived as a flashback to muppet babies is turned into a heartwarming musical number about the dreams we have as kids- when we wanted to be everything there is to be when we grew up.

What a wonderful movie, though perhaps it’s because I am a lifetime Muppets and Jim Henson fan.

It's just so gratuitously sexual, it's a hard watch. There's a great story and idea here, but come on.

What a joy this is, whenever your attention may be lost there’s always a surprise around the corner.

I feel like there’s something to be said for a pleasant, easy watch. This is that.

“Maybe this is all a dream. I’m just glad we are together in the same dream.”
