Movie Of The Year
I had very high expectations going into this, having seen all the praise and reviews over the last week or so, and I can happily say that it didn't disappoint! Dune: Part Two is both one of the best sci-fi movies and one of the best movie sequels ever made! It's an absolute masterpiece and it's really going to take something in the coming months to make this *not* the best film of 2024!
Visually, it's incredible! The visual effects are stunning, the set design is phenomenal, the costumes and makeup are amazing, and the cinematography is gorgeous!
The script is fantastic, taking the story in a jaw-dropping direction (baring in mind that I haven't read the books or graphic novels, or watched the 1984 movie as I want to experience this trilogy at its best), and doing wonders for the characters! The cast all do an excellent job, to the point where I can't just list the best stars! They all did brilliant jobs with their roles, and really helped to make this as satisfying a film as it is
It was also a fantastic cinema experience! Watching it at home, on a smaller screen, is never going to be as good as it was seeing it in theatres! Where I went, there was great surround sound, which allowed me to feel even more immersed in the film and it's beautiful score, the big screen really let me ire the film's phenomenal visuals, and there's just not a better way to experience peak cinema
