Even if it's clearly the weakest MI film and a little all over the place compared to the tightness of the first, John Woo's trademark action and flair give MI2 a unique feel and aesthetic that stands out from the other movies in a way I kind of like. Slow-mo doves and gunfights never get old.

I'm also realising how much of this movie feels like it directly inspired Resident Evil 4.

It's wild how low-key this film feels in comparison to what came later, but it's a fun, enjoyable spy romp regardless.

Blindness is one thing but I would never wish the debilitating disability of being French on anyone.

Great film that shines a spotlight on losing one's cultural heritage, language and identity, and the painful struggle to reclaim them in the face of oppression. Very stylish and well-directed movie, and Kneecap themselves give good performances despite having no prior acting experience, plus Michael Fassbender is great too.
